As you drive past the Trafalgar Way roundabout in Canary Wharf, you will see the famous "Traffic Light Tree". Resembling a tree and consisting of 75 sets of red, amber and green lights which consistently change on random basis, this traffic light tree has won the hearts of many tourists and locals. The conflicting set of changing lights has had a reputation of confusing even the most experienced drivers in the past. Because of this beautiful traffic light tree, the roundabout has been awarded with the status of "best-looking" roundabout in a 2005 survey by a motorist’s company. You will be amazed to know that as a fact, it actually is not a traffic light signal but a piece of art work by a French artist Pierre Vivant who created it in the year 1998.
London is a place where Harry Potter originated. Did you ever think whether the platform from where the young witches and wizards boarded their train to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry existed in reality? If YES, then a visit to Platform 9¾ at the King’s Cross Railway Station is a must for you. This is the same platform from where young witches and wizards including Harry, Ron and Hermione boarded their train to Hogwarts. You can get yourself some awesome pictures clicked with the trolley stuck halfway through the wall; wearing Gryffindor scarf and carrying bird cage and owl in the trolley. A souvenir Harry Potter shop nearby is also a nice place from where you can get some great stuff for Harry Potter fans in your family.
There is something hidden for the Sherlock Holmes fans too in London: The Sherlock Holmes Pub. If you want to have an interesting eating experience, then this is a ‘Must’ visit place. You will be awed to see the walls and shelves of the pub which are adorned with Sherlock Holmes memorabilia. The biggest attraction of the pub is the replica of Holmes and Dr. Watson’s study and sitting room where you will find lots of authentic Victorian items. This pub is definitely a nice place to sit and relax, not too tourist and food is also served at reasonable price.
