You have many toys but if you see a new on what do you think?
Do you think I already have so many toys what will I do with this new one. Or you want to have the new toy immediately.
When your friends come to meet you do you share best toys or things with them or hide them away so that you do not have to share them?
*Those who even after getting things that they need, still go on asking for more are called greedy.
To be happy with what you have is great virtue. It saves you from many troubles. If you have control on your wants you will remain helpful, honest and truthful.
There was a fisherman called Bhemudu. He had a small boat and a good net or catching the fish. But he was very greedy. He always wanted to have more than others.
He went fishing with others but he never gave his fish to others. He had strong nets so he caught more fish than others. Bhemudu was very selfish. If sometimes fisherman could not catch fish and came to Bhemudu to ask for a small fish, Bhemudu never gave him fish from the ones that he had.
One day they were all going in their boats for fishing. One fisherman saw a lot of fish and said that all of them will be able to get fish that ay.
Bhemudu wanted more fish than others so he went further in the sea. He caught some fish and as he was retuning he saw that the other fishermen were catching bigger fish. He stopped there and threw his fish in the sea. The other fishermen said, ``what are you doing Bhemudu? Don’t throw the fish back in the water.’’
``no’’ said Bhemudu, `I will catch the bigger fish.’’
``Do we help you?’’ said the other fishermen.
``no,’’ said Bhemudu, ``I don’t want any help’’.
The other fishermen had already caught the fish so they went away. Bhemudu caught a lot of big fish. His net became very heavy.
He was not able to pull it up alone.
Now there was nobody to help him. He had caught hundreds of fish but as he tried to pull the net it broke. All the fish slipped back into sea.
Bhemudu had no fish in his net.
Bhemudu thought about his foolishness of throwing away the small fish that he had caught.
He came home without any fish. ``I have no’’ fish for today.’’ He told his wife. They had nothing to eat. Then suddenly they heard a knock at their door. Another fisherman was standing at their door. He gave Bhemudu two small fish to eat for the dinner. He also gave him the message that the other fishermen will help him in mending the net the next day. Bhemudu felt about his behavior in the past. He said, ``How greedy and selfish I have been. In future I will also share everything with others and help them’’.
