Grand father’s spectacles
It was pleasant Sunday morning. As it was a holiday, the Rao woke up a bit late. The two children, Prasad and Meena, sat at the table for breakfast. Their parents too joined them.
Then grandfather asked from the next room, `did any of you find my glasses? I want to read the newspaper.’
Prasad- grandfather, they may be on your table.
Meena- I think you will find them beside your pillow.
Mr. Rao- well, I think I saw them on the dressing table this morning.
Mrs. Rao- why don’t you search for them in your pocket?
Grandfather started searching in all those places.
Grandfather- oh, no, now where I do look for them?
Prasad- wait, let me give it a try.
Meena- come on. Let’s all search.
They searched every nook and corner of the house, but in vain. Grandfather was quite worried. He went and sat on his easy chair. The newspaper was still in his hand.
Mrs. Rao- Mr. Rao and the children went and sat bedside him in deep thought.
Mr. Rao- what shall we do now?
Meena- (suddenly) mother, father, Meena, look at grandfather. Be quick.
They looked at him and started laughing. Ha, ha.
Grandfather was puzzled. He shouted at them, ‘what’s the matter?
Meena- oh! Grandfather, dear grandfather, your spectacles are on your nose!
Meena and her grand father
Meena spent her summer vacation with her uncle in the village. There was a fairing the village. Meena’s uncle took her to the fair. At night, it looked very colorful. The giant wheel attracted her the most.
Meena bought a ticket. She sat on the giant wheel for the first time. The wheel started moving slowly. Suddenly, the speed increased. Meena was afraid. She thought that the whole world was going round. She started crying. `Stop!’ she shouted. But no one heard. Her uncle stood down and waved at her. He was laughing.
At last the giant wheel came to a halt. Meena hurried down. Her uncle hugged her and said, Meena dear, we will not come here again the next time, okay?’
Meena uncle bought her an ice cream. That made her happy. Then they returned home.
