Hi friends in this article let us discuss how the game of cricket dominated the Indian sports. Well the most important thing that made Cricket as number 1 game in India is that, its ability to attract the audience.
There are lots of reasons why this game has attracted lots of audience in our country than other game, which includes even our National Game Hockey. So let us discuss some of the issues that are related to cricket and also what has happened to the development of other games, due to the domination of cricket.
1)First of all, everyone knew that Hockey is our National game but when it comes to playing a game more than 90 percent of young kids in India chose cricket rather than Hockey or some other games. This doesn’t includes official training, because when we go and see any ground on the weekends we might see lots of pitches there and the kids play there with multiple matches.
Why is this happening? The answer is unknown. Concentration in other sport sis not given and when we consider cricket it is very easy to play as the team requires only a bat and ball and even they can manage the stumps with any sticks.Ground condition is also an important factor, where the players of other sports might get less opportunity when compared to those who play cricket.
2)The Government must also be blamed for not making any necessary step for the development of any other games that includes even our National game Hockey.All these days the politicians find their way to earn for them rather than concentrating on the field they are appointed as minister.
Iam not sure what does the sports ministry do.India is a country full of talent and I guess they are not using our talent to the best.Even the politics in sports is a great hurdle for those who are really talented and all of us knew about this.With proper training given to the talented sportsman,India would have won more gold medals at the International arena like Olympics.
3)Government should also allot proper fund for the development of the other games.When it comes to cricket BCCI is the richest cricket governing body, even than that of ICC and they make the best use of it to start new tournaments like IPL, Champions League etc.
Government must allot funds and most importantly they should also take care that the money allotted here should not be misused because the corruption has played a major role starting from Tsunami relief fund and also in getting weapons for the army.
4)The only thing that we are lagging is that, we are not having any proper long term plan.When we consider any country like China, they had a long term goal and after implementing it they are at the top of medals tally i n Olympics.They are also planned the same for cricket and their plan is get test status by 2020.
