Glace Bay,is nothing but a former city and port present in the Cape Breton County,which is located in northeastern Nova Scotia, Canada.It is on the Atlantic coast of eastern Cape Breton Island.
Glace Bay was incorporated into Cape Breton regional municipality in the year 1995.This Glace Bay after incorporated into the municipality, comprises the former county and also its cities and towns.Glace Bay also includes district 3 and district 4 of the regional municipality .
At the past Glace Bay was very famous and it was a center for coal mining, once.But the coal mine situated in the Glace Bay was closed in 1984.
At present the major industries that are present in the Glace Bay which flourishes are fishing and fish-processing. Apart from this there is also a Miners’ Museum,which is located here, and this exhibits

ii)Glace Bay Lake which is a bird sanctuary.
It was in 1890s, in this region the settlements started and the main reason for the large number of settlements are due to the beggining of the large-scale coal-mining operations began
But a very powerful movement occured on 1920s, as jobs were allocated among the coal workers in Glace Bay.
It was in 1901, Glace Bay was incorporated.In 1992,a famous Italian physicist called as Guglielmo Marconi was the first to sent the transatlantic wireless messages from a nearby transmitter from Glace Bay.
Usually a marine climate is found in Glace Bay with temperature ranging from 9.1 degree celcius to 10.2 and an average precipitation of around 1200 mm per year.
July and August are considered as the Warmest month, with 21 degrees and January and February are the coldest month around -5.5 degrees.
The population in this region was 19 thousand in 1991 and it was 21,187 according to 2001.
At present the Glace Bay is governed by the Liberal party at both the Federal and also in the Provincial levels, but Federally it is situated in the riding of Cape Breton–Canso,and it is held by MP Rodger Cuzner, at present,and he was alsore-elected in the 2006 Federal Election.
However Provincially MLA Dave Wilson represents Glace Bay and he the member for the riding of Glace Bay.
