hyderabad has become a metrocity, but still the sense of safety that comes with big and thriving cities is missing here. Women especially, do not feel safe while going out alone even in the evenings. There are continurous cat calls, and stares inflicted our way. Many a times, cops are present in localities where evateasers are on the prowl, but connot besure about how effective they are. I wish there were more night time vigils on the city streets, and that there were more women cops, so that girls could approach them more confidently for help. Hyderabad should become women-friendly so that working women conventure out without fear, even if it's late in the night, ala mumbai. This is one area that all the previous government's have ignored. They should have toe used on women's security along time ago, but no one did. Considering the fact that we too are tax payers and that we all keep harping on women's empowerment, I don't see why nothing is done about this.
