It is of course everyone is in need of basic amenities like food, shelter and clothes. The man is striving hard to fulfill these needs by spending his energy through doing some work or other. These are quite necessary to live in this world. In a way, it is a method of getting savings too. Economic principles say that it is not greediness, but of course they are in a way savings for the future life. So what is the basic principle to be adopted by an ordinary human being in this world? Every time when we go to purchase something or other, we must think twice whether the purchase is essentially to be made or not. Only when it is considered to be absolutely necessary, we must purchase it. Otherwise, we may postpone the purchase or drop it. This will help us lead a simple life as well as to continue our life until the last period without any troubles or turmoil.
Generally, people are not in the habit of adopting this principle and go on purchasing everything they see as though all are essentially required for their daily use. Ultimately, this habit will become a continuous process and will make them to get everything to be in their possession but would suffer for want of needs. Definitely, this principle will not be in helpful to them in any way, and they have to borrow or steal money to fulfill their desires. This will cause at last to lead a restless life.
Buddha was once a great king of a nation. He was doomed to live in palace and enjoy the world by getting whatever he wants to get them. However, instead of continuing his luxurious life, he walked out of the palace. First, he saw an old man. Next he saw a sickly person suffering chronically, and then he saw a corpse lifted by some persons on their shoulders. Buddha thought and thought over these incidents and wanted to know the reasons for becoming old, caught by several chronic diseases and ultimately for the death.
Finally, he found out that all the above occurrences are the results of over ambitions to live luxuriously in this world without carrying for anything. He started Buddhism to explain to all the human beings about his findings that the basic reason for all the occurrences are only due to over desire to have a luxurious life. The Buddhism spread over other nations also through Buddhist monks. The great kings like Asoka took much pain for its spreading through his son and daughter to other nations also.
Even after taking much pain for hundreds and hundreds of years, there seems to be no effect at all and the people are in the habit of falling in the same line in securing both wealth and luxurious life not considering their actual needs.
In the case of our national father Mahatma Gandhi led a very simple life without relying on others for his needs. He attended all his personal needs by himself. He wore a simple dress that is two bits of clothes to cover for lower and upper portion of his body. He followed the principles that not giving any sort of injury to any living beings, including insects. During his visits to United Kingdom also when he attended the round table conference, he used dresses as usual.
So what is the result of the lives led by Great persons like Buddha and Gandhi, they only lead a simple life satisfying ourselves with the basic requirements.
Every birth is a separate one and so also the death. Everybody is given a peculiar body culture, color and appearance. Everybody is given a separate mind to think and act. Definitely, every man has his own view and acts according to it. No two person’s views will generally tally with one another. So what is essentially required for a healthy and peaceful life in this world is by helping others at the times of their needs and to live with what we are offered.
If the people follow these principles of great persons and live on their footsteps, the entire human community will live with good health, happiness and a pleasant life with fellow living beings up to last.
From the lives of the great people, we can learn a lesson that simplicity will assist for the savings as well as to fulfill our needs. It is to be adopted as a principle that no person should leave the world debts behind him which will be a burden to his legal hairs. If any property either movable or immovable is left behind a person will be of great help to his successions. So everybody should try to avoid unnecessary expenditure. There is no need to live luxuriously. It is enough if one is provided with the basic needs such as food, shelter and simple clothes to wear. There is no need to struggle for over earnings.
Leading a life against these principles will naturally result in suffering for one will also affect others to live many hurdles and troubles. Is it necessary? Think deeply about this matter and come to a conclusion that simple life alone as lead by the great persons will definitely result in pleasant and joyful life throughout the lifetime.
If a person desires to live luxuriously he has to earn enormously to fulfill his desires. So what he will do? He has to strive hard and come forward with the knowledge he gained through education and work without giving merits to the timings, or otherwise, he has to beg, borrow or steal to fulfill his desires. The net result arrived from the foregoing discussions is that it is better to have satisfaction with what we have in accordance with our ability and health to strive hard.
To lead a happy and joyful life, it is better for everyone to give much attention towards getting vast knowledge in all the fields, maintaining good health to strive hard so that to become a wealthy person to attain the life’s desires. It is not the opinion of an individual. Everybody in and around the person even from his childhood is necessary to think and help others on these principles aimed so that such aim will be succeeded and lead a happy and peaceful life.
The question is whether everybody is gifted a life as chosen by him? In this case, somebody feels that this is impossible in respect of all cases but may be fulfilled rarely. The old people will say that a man cannot plan his life himself. Everything is by getting through education and job. The marriage will be decided by the supreme power. However, there is difference of opinions in this matter. The people living in now-a-days think that everything is in their hands and the future could be decided by the human being himself. It is an unsolvable question before the old and younger generations. There are so many instances to prove that so many persons have come forward with using their skills and labor and showed the world about their achievements. So what is needed now is to learn everything. Besides maintaining a good health by taking suitable foods is also necessary. Doing exercises properly and keeping the body in a trimmed position to act whenever required. The researchers are fully concentrating their energy during their entire life time until they are come out successful in their attempts. Now we are enjoying such inventions of such scientists without straining ourselves. From this, we may understand the importance and value of work and labor, which are useful for both the finder and the whole community. It is meaningless to follow the ancestor’s way whose sayings may be suitable for their periods only and will not be applicable for the younger generations. If the scientist and researcher Thomas Alva Edition had not offered his entire life towards his inventions, can we enjoy the use of electricity? In a way, it is correct to disobey the principles of the elders without giving much weight and respect. So finally what is to be concluded is that we should not believe the fate, etc., and keep quiet ourselves without attempting to do any sort of works. However, with great eager to approach everything with positive approach and try to use our own opinion to deal with every case without following the words of ancestors as well as the present-day living persons.
Conclusion:
It is better to take wise decisions by the particular persons themselves at the appropriate times, use their intelligence, plan wisely and act without blaming anything. This will lead to give a happy and peaceful life in one’s life.
