Birla temple is one of the famous temple in Hyderabad which attracts tourist from India and Abroad. It is well connected with road and the nearest railway station is Nampally. One can enjoy the beauty of the temple built with white marble stones. The temple is on the hill top and beside the temple Birla planetarium is there. One can have a darshan of the temple and can have a view on the astronomical division at the Planetarium. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Venkateshwara or Balaji. People generally throng the temple especially on Saturday as it is considered to be the auspicious day for Lord Venkateshwara or Balaji. There are many small temple beside the main temple like Ganesh, Hanuman, Saibaba where one can have the aarti and darshan.
After reaching the temple one can really enjoy the beauty of Hyderabad especially the Tank bund lake view and can view the Gautam Buddha statue in the middle of the Hussain Sagar Lake. Hawkers sell Coconuts, flowers, fruits, toys for children and women generally purchase bangles near the temple and offer the same to God. There is a lot of parking place where one can park four wheeler and two wheeler. Free Sandal keeping rack are available and one can keep his belonging safe as the temple as got locker box facility just beside the free sandal keeping centre. Taking photography is strictly prohibited in the temple. One has to submit his cellphone, cameras before entering into the temple which is well guarded by the security.
Near reaching the main temple who can see the pleasant and nicely carved idol of Lord Venkateshwara about 15 feet with beautiful garland of tulsi leaves and see people reciting the name of Lord Balaji or Venkateshwara as `Govinda Govinda’. One can put a small tilak of sandalwood and can have coconut Prasad kept on the table and have the blessings of Lord Venkateshwara or Balaji
