Today I saw a report on letters on the television. I thought that this is very true that letters, which were an essential part of our elder’s life, is lost somewhere.
I remember that my grandmother was said that she used to read my grandfather’s letters twice or thrice in a day, and that was the most precisions and golden time for her to read the letters. She kept all the letters very carefully because these letters were very essential and memorable for her.
Today the face is all changed, there is no value of letters for new generation. Even my nephew don’t know what is the letter he thinks that letters are only be formal which is used in the big companies or for official use only.
Before one or two decade only letters were used for the communication, but it was very time consuming. My father was worked from outside of our town and he was very found to send letters to my mother and my mother as like my grandmother, kept it very carefully.
When a Pankaj Udas’s song , “ Chiththi aai hai watan se chithithi aai hai bade dino ke bad hum bewatno yad kar watan se mitti aai hai”, was released it became very popular and one of the vey hit song because it is very close to all , they all used letters and can understand the real meaning of that song. My mother start carrying when she listen this song .
After that decade there was a become a boom in the technology and mobile, computers etc take over the place of letters. Today we can send message in one second from one place to another place, distance is no matter here. We talk to anyone from anywhere even in one second. It is very good, because we can communicate with others in a very short period of time. Today even a two or three year old child know who to operate mobile, its all very good for us and as well as for the nation, But this is not have the beauty which was letters have.
