Should Alcohol be banned or not?
Nothing is too bad until it is used in its extreme. If any person has no sense that too much alcohol is harmful, he will search for some other option, if it is banned.
People get to know how much to consume without getting hangovers when they have it. Moreover it has been proved scientifically that red wine is good for health. alcohol induces a feeling of hunger in you. the tonics which doctors prescribe you when you don’t feel like eating contain approx 12 % ethyl alcohol in it. It’s just when people consume it more, it has a deleterious effect on them.
first of all if people above 18 are permitted to participate in voting, which is most important for a country as it will choose the leader of country, state. It means we assume people above 18 are mature enough to make decisions, to make judgment about right and wrong decisions, then we can also assume them to be mature enough to decide how much alcohol is right for them. So I suggest it should be banned for those who are below 18 only.
Second I believe that banning may not be very effective to arrest the inappropriate consumption by some people leading to accidents, fights, domestic problems etc. Because such people may find some illegal ways. In fact banning will give rise to illegal ways of selling and consuming alcohol. even in USA it is being argued that drugs should be made legal because the illegal business of drugs is creating a lot of trouble there.
The alcohols also fall in many categories especially strong and mild, I think that strong one's should be banned but the mild one's may be allowed as it can act as a kind of sedative.
When we people have fever then a teaspoon of brandy may serve as a tonic, but when the same is over consumed it may cause liver failure.
So the bottom line is that use of alcohol should only for curing purpose not to degrade the health, i.e. controlled use of alcohol.
The main cause of suicide is not insufficient funds or lack of irrigation facilities but it is the lack of utilization of such funds in those areas is there any part of India where cent percent of the funds is utilized? Almost half of the fund is shared by the unscrupulous politicians and the rest amount hardly reach to such person so we can’t blame the Govt. it’s the politicians and the middle man who should be blamed.
Now regarding alcohol, it doesn’t do well either to the rich or the poor. it only spoils their life and family, now regarding its banning I don’t say people will stop its consumption , but don’t you think that will reduce the no of consumers up to a certain extent as we say something is better than nothing.
Now regarding employment, there are multiple choices for it Why not open any small scale industries and divert the workers there more ever our Govt. is not supporting alcohol industries.
