The very name of examination is mind boggling. We forget all what we have learnt by rot so far. Our yearly hard work seems to be slipping out of the brain. We behave like idiots. We look non-pulsed. We are badly bathed in perspiration. No way out is visible to escape from this drag net.
We often hear such words: Examination fear and examination fever. They are true. They have an iota of truth in them. Examination is a terror of thousands of boys and girls. They burn midnight oil in its preparation. They revise guides, notes, books, exercise books and ten years’ papers. They do not want to leave anything to chance. They prepare for an examination on war footing. They want to tame this bug bear. In the process, these miss their meals. They forget rest and sleep. They develop insomnia. Their condition is extremely pitiable. They become an object of self-pity. The poor fellows are busy in the examination. They are buried in their books.
All of us eat food every day. Now there is an examination in food eating. Most of us will forget to eat food in the usual manner. Some will chew and other will swallow morsels. The very movement of the lips is worth-seeing. It will give you a sense of ludicrousness. This was a very simple examination. Our behavior was an extreme failure. We all have noticed it.
Now, in the light of this simple test, determine the condition of the poor examinees. The books are too many. Knowledge is a sea-deep. The vagaries of the examiner are quite unpredictable. He may set up questions. He expects an answer which he himself may not be able to write properly. The poor candidate is in the dilemma. He is in fix. He can slip anywhere. He may or he may not pass. The fear is lurking. His actual position is very precarious. He is to be pitied at. Only God can come to his succor. He can shower success on him.
