India is a democratic country. In democracy people make the government after every five years. Those persons who govern the country are selected by the people of that country.
Dr. Manmohan Singh was born in a village named Gaah, situated in center of Lahore and Islamabad, in 1932. Sarder Gurmukh Singh eas the father of Dr. Manmohan Singh who was the eldest of all his brothers and sisters. His sister Narendra Kaur says that Dr. Manmohan Singh is known for his diligence, intelligence and hard work since his childhood.
After the partition, Dr. Manmohan Singh and his father Sarder Gurmukh Singh along with his family settled down in Amritsar. There his father started his business of dry-fruits. Dr. Manmohan Singh was only 13-14 years old at that point of time. Their house was known by the name of “Santram Ka Tabela”. His mother Krishna Kaur was a religious woman.
Dr. Manmohan Singh spent his childhood in Pakistan and Amritsar. Since his childhood Dr. Manmohan Singh was known for his sincerity and hard work. He completed the schooling from Gya, Ashram and Hindu Mahasabha and completed his M.A (Economics) from Khalsa College, Hoshiarpur with first division. Later, he completed his Ph. D in Economics from Oxford. After completing his Ph. D in Economics from Oxford, he got to work as a lecturer in Punjab College. Then, he was appointed as the Finance Consultant by State Government. He had that potential which made him the Governor of Reserve Bank of India(RBI).
When Narshima Rao became the Prime Minister, then Dr. Manmohan Singh was assigned the designation of Finance Minister, and in this way, he entered into politics and got involved in the various functions of Congress Party.
Today, Dr. Manmohan Singh is a great personality. He achieved his grand success through his diligence, hard work and integrity. Dr. Manmohan Singh pledged as the Prime Minister on May 22, 2004.
He is a very good and gentle personality. The country expects a lot from him.
