It is said that busy man is a healthy man and an idle mind is a devil's workshop. Idleness affects mental health as well as physical health of course. Work produces optimistic ideas within an individual. Work is God's gift and thus should be practiced the way we worship God. Work helps an individual to make self-discovery. It in builds confidence within an individual. Life without work has got no meaning. It becomes useless.
Work is action that is useful and should be noble. Such noble activities are blessed. Day to day chores essential for the growth of an individual and which helps in the development of nation is work. These are useful chores. Helping some one is a noble activity. But, negative activity does not come under work. It is a curse. Work should be such that it becomes constructive and not destructive. It should be positive in nature. Work is not a curse. It is the means to manhood and civilization cannot live without it.
A man born on this earth is a worker. If he is not worker then he is nothing. He cannot live without doing work. No work is small or big. Work is just work and it should be worshiped. Sweeper's work is to keep the roads clean. Doctor's work is to treat the patients. Both are equally sacred. Man should not be rewarded with the tag of greatness with the type of work he does but with the sincerity he performs his duty. Great man is one who works hard and believe in his work. He will take his work as worship and accomplish the task.
Life is action and one who considers their work as worship will never get tired of it no matter how hard or how difficult their work is and no matter for how long does they work. Man becomes worthy only when he does some work. His actions speak. He becomes immortal only because of his actions. A worker is never afraid of anything and does not fear anybody. Great man is one who puts his heart and soul while accomplishing his work. He works because he loves his work and not for material comforts or money. He works gratefully and enlivens his work.
One who has found his work to be as good as blessed does not need anything more. For him work is like worshiping God. He needs no other God. To him God itself is work and work itself is God. Within all the works lie God that may be sweeper's job or job where a tiller is tilling the hard soil. If one doesn't work, he shouldn't feed himself.
Action or work should be done without the greed of reward. Best work is the one which is done with complete soul in it but with the disinterest of any reward. Constructive work is always blessed. Skill and construction both makes the work more interesting. If one acquires a skill and enjoys exercising it then only he will feel his work as blessed. Similarly, constructive work provides pleasure and not destruction. In destructive work pleasure may be obtained but it is short-lived as it arises from hate.
Being idle rust the soul. It is biggest enemy of a man. It is like an evil. If one doesn't work and sit idle he will be occupied by harmful thoughts. This will make him wicked. Thus, mind should be transformed into a workshop within which many good thoughts appear and thus mind becomes divine. For this, useful tasks are necessary. If a person sits idle, it is harmful to him as an individual and then to the society as well as nation. It is just mere waste of talent and labor. This time could be utilized by him to make something constructive and productive. He should keep himself always active and alert. Every minute man should be occupied with some task. Idle minds are home for wicked thoughts. They then as individuals will become difficult to be controlled.
Mind is fleeter than wind. Air will require time to reach a place miles away but mind can reach there within fractions of second. Thus, if mind is not directed for doing some constructive work will become engaged by evil thoughts and sooner will transform into a devil's workshop. Such a workshop is dangerous and give rise to innumerable bad thoughts.
Every individual should consider his work equivalent to God. The way devotees worship their Gods on daily basis, in a similar manner work should be accomplished with complete devotion. Then work will become supreme and divine. It will be blessed and constructive in all the ways. It should not be done for the sake of doing. It should be carried out with pleasure and complete devotion. This will please God and God loves men who love their work. Instead of men who hours together sit in front of God and worship them, God favor them who love their work and do not consider it as a burden on their shoulders. Thus, one should love their work and carry out with complete dedication and pleasure.
