There was a time when having a car was considered to be a sign of wealth. Any person seen driving a car was respected and also looked up with a certain sense of dignity and fear. These days however owning a car is one of the easiest things in the world especially in India. Almost everybody irrespective of their financial status do have a car. The reasons for having a car are:-
Cars are easily affordable:- A car is very affordable these days. The reason being is that most cars hardly cost about 2 to 3 lakhs. It is easy to get loan for purchasing a car in very convenient instalments. A customer needs to pay hardly needs to shelll a lakh of rupees as down payment towards purchase of car. It is even easier to buy a second hand car as it costs in the region between 1 to 1.40 lakhs.
In earlier days the owners of cars used to be very rich people living in huge buildings. These days people who cannot afford to have even a small home on their own are proud owners of cars as it is easier for a person to own a car because while land rates have gone up by leaps and bounds, car rates have come down. Now new cars are available for about 1.25 lakhs. Earlier people who had cars but did not have a own house used to be very specific in their requirement for rented houses stating that car parking is a must. With rent rates have gone up in most cities in India, people are even ready to park their cars outside their rented homes in front of the road or the nearest point where there is sufficient space to part their cars.
While cars were considered a luxury a couple of decades back, these days cars have become more of a necessity for people because it is more economical for a family to travel in a car considering the rates for hiring alternate modes of travel like auto rickshaw and taxis for a family to attend a function.
