Backpain or Dorsalgia is generally caused in the lower portion of the back. It could be due to strain and tension in the muscles,joints, bones and spines. Now- a – days, it is becoming one of the most frequent neurological disorder. Almost, everyone of us experience it at some point of our lives.
Although, for a severe back problem, it is usually recommended to consult a physician and follow a physiotherapy; there are some home remedies which could be followed for a nominal back pain.
- Food and drinking habits: This plays a very important role for the metabolism of the body. Eating the right food and drinking lots of water has significant role when it comes to a healthy body. It is always recommended to include a lots of fruits and vegetables in your diet regularly and drink at least 10 liters of water daily.
- Do regular Exercises, Walking and Yoga: For people having severe back pain , don’t do exercises that puts a lot of strain on your spines. Instead, compensate it by taking a brisk walk and doing yoga. Yoga gives relief effectively when it comes to relieving pain.
- Sleep on a firm and hard mattresses: Your sleeping habit has a lot of effect on your back pain. Watch out for you sleeping posture. A bad sleeping posture could add on a pain. Try sleeping on a firm mattresses instead of a soft one.
- Use Castor oil: Castor oil is extracted from the seeds of the castor oil plant (ricinus communis). The extracted oil is pale yellow, thick and transparent. When it is rubbed into the skin, castor oil is able to penetrate quickly and deeply than any other essential plant oil. Applying castor oil on the skin can relieve pain, reduce inflammation, detoxify the body and boost lymphatic circulation. It has very relieving effect on back pain. Apply the oil gently on the portion having pain and massage it for around 20 minutes till all the oil applied seems to get absorbed.
- Use Eucalyptus oil :This is yet another oil which you can use as an alternative to castor oil. Eucalyptus oil contains chemicals that might help pain and inflammation. However, in India castor oil is more readily available. The procedure for applying it is the same. Apply the oil gently on the portion having pain and massage it for around 20 minutes till all the oil applied seems to get absorbed.
- Note: The above oils are only recommended for external use. Their intake has a very toxic effect on the body and can prove to be poisonous.
- Try to keep yourself warm: Your body should not be subjected to any form of coldness. As such you should take appropriate measures to keep yourself warm.
- Try to include garlic in your meal.
- Drink luke warm water mixed with honey instead of the normal water. You may also include tulsi leaves and drink it.
- Take a Tablespoon of Fenugreek seeds(methi): Very rarely known, but fenugreek seeds have a miraculous effect on the back pain and arthritis pain. Soak 1 tablespoon of fenugreek seek in water for an overnight and eat it in the morning. Alternatively, you could make a powder of the seeds and drink it with luke warm water.
