Ingredients:
- 4 large tomatoes
- 3 tbsp tamarind pulp
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp roasted cumin seeds
- a pinch of asafoetida
- salt and peppe to taste
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard sees
- 5-6 curry leaves
- 2 dry red chillies
- 4 cups water
Method:
- Wash and chop tomatoes.Microwave in a microwave safe bowl at 100% for 4-5 mins with 1/2 cup water and allow o stand for 5 mins
- Blend the tomatoes in the blender and strain it to form a puree
- In another microwave safe bowl microwave oil at 100% for 30 secs
- Add asafoetida,mustard seeds,curry leaves,dried red chilli and microwave at 100% power for 1 min.Add tamarind paste,tomato puree,salt and 4 cups of water to it.Microwave at 100% for 4-5 mins
- Sprinkle roasted cumin seed powder before serving.Serve hot
