Ingredients of vathalappam:
Eggs – 4 (white yolk only)
Jaggery syrup – 2 spoons
Milk – ½ cup
Elachi powder – ½ tea spoon
Coconut milk – ½ cup
Caramel syrup – 2 spoons (Caramel syrup is available in Market)
Preparation of Caramel syrup at home:
1.Melt 1 cup of sugar in a thick wide bowl.
2.Then it changes to light wheat in color.
3.While boiling there is a chance of getting burn.
4. It is good to stir in the middle
5.Now add one cup of water in it.
6.Let them for 5 minutes.
7.Therefore caramel syrup is ready.8.We can store this caramel syrup in bottle and use whenever needed.
Preparation of vathalappam:
1.Pour caramel syrup little in the cake tin.
2.Now take white egg yolk in another bowl.
3.Beat them finely.
4.Then add coconut milk, boiled and cooled milk, jaggery syrup.
5.Mix them finely.
6.Then sprinkle elachi powder.
7.Now pour this mixture in caramel syrup poured tin.
8.Then place this tin in oven and set it for 160 degrees.
9.Bake it for half an hour.
10.Then after half an hour take the cake tin out from the oven.
11.Let it get cool.
12.Now place this cake in refrigerator for 1 hour.
13.Then take out and cut the cake into pieces and have it.
14.Therefore vathalappam is ready.
