Many people in this world drink beer. Beer is used for drinking for several reasons or at several occassions like on new year eve, some drink in depression and some drink just for fun.
Let us study how it is made.
Earlier, in ancient times, beer used to be made with herbs and malt and barley. Today, as well, almost same ingredients are used to make beer. Beer was first made in 4000 BC. I think ancient people were intelligent enough, they produced such beverages. In those times, ingredients used were barley, wheat and rye. When spices were invented, ancient people made use of cinnamon in beer. Beer which we drink today exactly the same was produced in 15 BC. Beer is the fermented beverage which is usually made of cereals and water. Barley, which is the main ingredient in producing a beer, usually is imported from western provinces but molting of beverages is done at some other place. There are many companies in this world that produces beer as we all know.
Each company has its own water filtration plant. Refiltration of water is done in the same plant so that chlorine gets removed. Dark malt is used and is heated to a high temperature. The mixture of grains, dark malt and water is spin in a big machine for 2 hours. This process makes malt husks to settle down at the bottom of the tank. This also allows for a protein foam to form on the top layer of the mixture. Then comes the brewing process which runs for almost 5 hours. At this stage of brewing, a sample of the mixture is taken where the whole mixture is heated for 5 hours. Sample is taken to control further stages of brewing and produce a quality beer. Then the liquid or mixture is filtered in the filteration tank where malt husks and water are separated. Then the sample is taken from this filteration tank. This is done to check the density of sugar in the mixture and the quality of the water. After this, another ingredient called as hops are added into the heater.
Hops are used to give bitterness and aroma to the beer. Once hops are added, brewing process starts again. Heater is managed by the data control system which is operated by system controller. Yeast is added and process called fermentation starts once brewing is done. Fermentation process usually runs for 7-10 days. Foam like structure is developed on the mixture, which indicates that fermentation process has begun and sugar is now ready to turn into alcohol. There are many fermentation tanks in the plant, each of them are computer controlled, which controls the temperature of the tanks.
After 3 weeks, beer gets almost finished. If the mixture has turned into beer or not, can be indentified by seeing towards an indicator on bottling tanks. Once the beer is made which takes around 3 weeks, needs filteration for one more time. This filteration process produces clear and quality beer. Usually, used bottles are re-used for filling beer. First these bottles are washed properly. This makes bottles sterlised. Empty and cleaned bottles are then kept on conveyor belt by the machine and are ready to be filled. Beer filling machines fill the bottles at the rate of 1000 bottles per minute. After filling, pasteurization process takes place. Once this process is completed, labels are glued on the bottles and then conveyors are used to put bottles into cases.
Beer made from cereals grains and water is now ready to be consumed and enjoyed at various stages of life.
