Most of the kids are picky eaters and parents have to battle with them for eating nutritious food. A study shows that almost 50 percent of the kids and toddlers are picky eaters. From my experience I believe that kids choose to be picky as they are fed with the food they like most. One better way to solve this is by starting to give more fruits and vegetable right from their early stages.
Shape your child's eating habit
Try adding a lot of fruits and vegetables into the food. My kid doesn't like to have fruits as such but loves when they are served as Fruit milk shakes. Most of the kids won't like to eat vegetable soup but like to have Noodles so try adding Vegetable Stock while preparing Noodles. Include varieties in cooking. Try to find out an alternative way to make kids eat healthy. Kids love eating wraps, so wrap mixed vegetables in chapattis.
Set by Example
Most of the kids learn the eating habits from their parents. If parents choose to be picky so as the kids. Set by example, parents have to eat healthier food to make the kids to do so. Start on a process of teaching your child to eat healthy food.
Frequent small Meals
If kids didn't like to eat everything as a single meal try giving frequent small meals at least every 2 hours. Giving small frequent meals boost metabolism and aid in better digestion.
Store healthy Snacks
Stock up healthy snacks handy for kids to taste. Stock it up with nuts, fruits, raisins, cereal and nuts bar, brown bread instead of white bread, high fiber biscuits, corn flakes. When kids need a quick snack they can pick it up.
Get children involved in Cooking
Let your kids to some small chores while you are cooking. They will be more interested in eating the food they prepare.
Don't compromise
If your kid doesn't eat a meal don't compromise with them by preparing another meal for him. When they are really hungry they will eat whatever you serve. If the kid refuses to take that food leave them and don't force. Give them some fruits or milk, don't starve them.
One more option for making them eat is by singing songs for them, playing music, stories or a toy to play whatever you can think off to make them have healthy food
If kids learn at a young age to like fruits, vegetables, cereals. These eating patterns will stay with them as they grow. These methods can take a long time but it is worth to ensure the proper eating pattern, health and development of your kid.
