Here's a recipe for a delicious sauce:
Ingredients:
Two cups of quartered lemons, washed and wiped dry thoroughly.
Two cups of Orange segments, peeled and de-seeded.
One cup jaggery (or more depending on preference)
2-3 teaspoons of red chilli powder.
Salt as per taste.
Two pinches of asafoetida powder.
Method:
1. Steam the lemon pieces in pressure cooker for 5-6 minutes, remove and let it cool.
2. Mix lemon, orange and jaggery with salt and make fine paste in the mixer.
3. Remove in a heavy-bottomed pan and add chilli powder and asafoetida and cook slowly on fire until the mixture thickens slightly. Cool and store in a glass jar.
This sauce looks and tastes delicious and can be used with chapatis, parathas or can even be spread on sandwiches. They can be served with a variety of snacks such as samosas and kachoris!
