There is an an old proverb. "Pen is mightier than Sword". Those days the only mode of communication was pen as there were no Television or Internet those days for a person to communicate to us.
With the advent of Television & Internet, the new proverb would be "The Power of Pen and Tongue". Powerful speeches writings have the capacity to inspire millions of negative people. Good Orators with strongly worded speeches can inject energy into millions of dull and negative minds. They can inspire millions of cowards into a revolutionary mode against powerful and arrogant administrations thereby forcing positive reforms from the establishment.
On the contrary, the power of speech if misused could have a devastating effect. Speeches on sensitive issues like religion, caste and language could result in large scale violence and resentment. It could ruin an entire state or a country. It could possibly lead to loss of lives and mental wounds that take a lifetime to heal.
Considering the above it becomes very important for each and every person to think of the pros and cons of a speech before actually delivering the speech. The person has to be very selective in the choice of words. Speeches or writings should be thoroughly scanned by the Electronic & Print media before it reaches the actual public.
PEN & TONGUE ARE TWO POWERFUL TOOLS. USE THEM WISELY
