The BE YOURSELF Theory!
How the contestant are selected ?? Well its a major question that has always been related to Roadies.
And i am sure this year wont be an exception. For sure some really different character will be chosen in PI's and for sure we are going to be amazed on their selection. Some of us will accept the fact that ok these are the ones amongst which we have to choose one and some of us will just wont be able to digest their selection (Mostly the ones who themselves got rejected will say that), and no matter what happens they will hate them till the end. It had happened last year too, when selection of Devershi and Poloumi created a heated atmosphere in this community and we saw people arguing over their selection, about the grounds on which they are selected.
First of all, Roadies is something which has to be shown on TV. Yes, they have to maintain their level but being on TV means they have to put some unique characters in there so as to entertain the public. And thus i come up with a list of different kind of contestants which we will get to see.
1. Tough ones :- In every Roadies season you will find a guy and a girl who are born to be wild. They will do anything that is asked from them and will do them in a passionate way. They will just show their enthusiasm towards tasks and will win 3-4 immunities but generally they don't make it till last, most of the times they get voted out because they are strong. Its always hard for them to win the game.
2. Silent Observers or the underdogs :- Well there are very few such contestant but when they come and if they play their game perfectly then without being involved in politics or without doing the tasks really well they make it till last. And there it depends on their luck. Their only trick is to be out of limelight for as long as possible.
4. Politicians :- Yes, they are kind of people who if get a ticket can win in their first election only. They are aware about their physical inability, so they just sharpen their mind and play the games. They most of the times pull all the strings, create all the confusion and write most of the vote-outs. But obviously no tasks so no roadies, they go out at a certain stage when either they do a mistake or have their horses turned against them.
5. Entertainers :- These are the the unique character who are their in the show just to entertain us and to ensure there wont be any dull moment. When there is nothing going on then with their humor or stupidity they entertain us.
6. Normal Guys :- They have nothing special, they are like jack of all trades. They are what in my eyes the true Roadies. They sometime win or sometimes not but everytime their journey is the most interesting ones. They can be called as silent observers but no they are not, they play their part in politics but also do well in tasks, maybe not as good as the tougher ones but they give their best in everything. Their best quality is that they just concentrate on their game and not on others. And whenever needed they play with others too. And ya how they got selected, just because their luck worked at the right time.
Now, as always MTV guys says, "Be yourself", what i think now is by this they mean understand from which of the above category you are and just play by your talent and potential. Yes, not all of you are born to be Roadies winner lekin journey mein toh aa jaoge na boss
Even better with examples would be!
2. Silent Observers or the underdogs: Ashutosh, Anthony, Parul, Ayaz, Poulomi
3. The Chicks: Sonia, Bani, Roopali, Natasha, Suzzana, Shambhavi
4. Politicians: Snehashish, Nihal, Raj, Rishabh, Pradeep, Sandeep
5. Entertainers: Tony, Poulomi, Devashish, Ashutosh, Sonel
6. Normal Guys: Vikrant, Anmol, Priyanka, Anuj, Shaleen, Ranjit, Ignoor, AJ, Shubhendru, Meher, Swati, Poonam, Nauman
New twisted way with same results !!
PLEASE READ IT COMPLETE BEFORE REPLYING. DON’T PICK ANY RANDOM LINE.
It has been real long time since I last started a topic on Roadies but I really want to say all this, so just read it with calmness and patience.
All of us know that new season of ROADIES is on air now on MTV and yes, Nikhil, Cyrus Sahukar and Cyrus Broacha are the ones judging it this time. Nikhil playing the role of an executioner who pulls out the reality of the contestant. Cyrus Sahukar playing the role of a statue who loves to give comment after a contestant is gone and for me he is pretty okay kind and could easily be ignored in the audition part. Cyrus Broacha playing a role of an entertainer who adds masala and crisp to the show to make it more family prone and also to get out the X-factor out of the contestant.
Now, I have seen people divided in two groups. One group is saying that “the show was crap and boring and they want Raghu and Rajeev back”, and other group is saying that “the show is pretty much promising and more broaden related to its viewers and of course much more entertaining. No need of Raghu and Rajeev to be there”.
Now I won’t say anyone of them is wrong and I am also not here to prove anyone right. I just want to say that for me, first impression is the last impression only when we are unknown with the situation and personalities involved in it. The one we hate today might be the one who we will love tomorrow. Being judgmental only in the starting of anything is totally unwanted, especially without giving the chance to the show to show its complete virtue and perception. I am not saying that IT WILL BE BEST FOR SURE but it can be the one, we can’t regret it.
And yes one more thing. NIKHIL is one guy who himself is sufficient enough to judge a Roadie and got enough caliber to grasp the true side of a personality. And certainly it was seen in the today’s’ audition as well when he pointed out a guy as MORON, which he actually was. So we can’t say, we won’t get best selected roadies. Yes, of course Raghu will be missed for sure, as he was the backbone of the show for years and personally I would love to see him back in the show, but at the same time I also don’t forget that change is inevitable especially when it might provide the same entertainment in the latter parts.
I might be wrong here and even time can betray me with the latter stages of this season but still I am keeping my fingers crossed for the best. I know one thing only, if this season didn’t prove up to the standards of its previous seasons and made people stay away from it, then MTV will certainly correct it in the next season. Till then I will enjoy this season to its best for sure and will be hoping the same from you guys.
secondly today's episode proved that MTV is planning to go beyond the youth. yes you read it right, todays show didn't have atleast 1 beep around it and the show was entertaining too though there is no more raghu tadka added into it but the show had enough points that which made interesting and one more thing today is the first episode and new judge panel sitting and as always we cant imagine one person replacing the other after being the Mr. Perfect in that. Coming to me when Ganguly was removed from the captaincy i didnt accept the change and i started hating dravid but the thing is when the time passed i forgot about that thing and started enjoying same thing will happen now this is just a part of time.
One episode cannot prove that this was the worst as we used to love the PI that raghu used to take. Now the thing is changed the PI are more of fun and which can be watched by Parents too

today we saw just 3 Stages still 4 stages left which may make the Roadies more interesting than the previous one's were who knows and we may get out of the Raghu Raghu and Start telling we just want this type of Roadies to be done every year.
Surely, MTV has creative people working behind the show and they kneow their jobs. As rightly pointed, Nikhil, is enough more than enough to take the audition and surely he shall do a much better job.
I guess a little time to these people and lets see how does the show unveils.
I am sure, its gonna be something good. I am only scared that by making lots of changes, the show doesnt loose its charm and excitement.
Sometimes too many changes, change the face of it. But roadies audition should be a serious affair, its not a joke, so many people try for it and if the judges take it lightly. I hope it shall be good going forward.
Nikhil is good enough to study body lang and bring real out of him/her.And at the end results matter to us which were quite fair
But again for me! Audition counts a lot.. Because that is the start where u get the tickling feeling that what is going to come ahead of you..! and always you do have that feeling that cracking PI is the most difficult thing..
actually i remebred d last year episode of roadies 6.0 behind d scenes where raghu himself said dat .. bumpy chahta hain ki woh akela yeh show chalye but inko meri jarurat padh hi jaati hain hope next year aisa nah ho... so its his personal discission to back out from roadies.... and yeah ek cheej baar baar repeat ho toh woh boring lagne lagti hain and shayed raghu ke sath saturation state aa gayi thi
As for the yelling and screaming that so many of you crave, seek help now. Just as much as I don't expect a Roadie to fake his personality, I'm not about to fake anger or unnecessarily raise my voice to satisfy an army of depraved individuals who up until last year, were still wetting their beds.
I badly was waiting for that psychopathic sarcastic comments ..and taking the essence of one said word and killing into 100 pieces and I also enjoy the screwing up the contestants so that they deliver the truth ..
Also, with all this ..I just felt odd when u bring in family children ..best friends ..bf's etc.. damn! This is not a family show or cross-verifing if the person is true or not
In a whole for me today's episode was a big disappointment...
Hoping that it would better off! in the next.. ..
Nikhil and Cyrus do have the caliber of differentiating the true Roadies from the wannabe idiots but their approach is different.
During the previous 4 seasons we have seen Raghu Ram taking the approach of aggression to bring out the true character within a person, but this season they have taken a calm, much logical approach in selecting the contestants.
Now the point is what the audiences want: Entertainment.
During all these years we were entertained to see Raghu lash out at the contestants, this year we were prepared for a subtle but humorous personal interview.
What lacked in today's episode was humor which is the reason why we didn't quite enjoy the show as we used to. Whatever bit of humor that was seen on the show seemed to be monotonous and forced, there wasn't enough weight to it.
Hoping to see a better and more humorous audition from next week.
Roa7ies Ep1 Review: Kolkata Kinetics!
Roa7ies...7 Deadly Sins,1 Mellowed Auditions!
*Time frame 0.01-1.04*:Snazzy Editing Shots, Africans Smooching and Fighting!
Round 1:Online Shortlisting/Victim Searching
After the Delhi debacle last year, online shortlisting became a big part of Roa7ies auditioning! No more wearing skull T-shirts this time around, you had to prove how much of a badass you were by filling in snazzy form entries about fist fights and your wacky Youtube moments. The stack kept rising and as always the guys at MTV spent sleepless nights going over stuff like -" I have never been in fist fights, but would love to punch someone in the journey" and "Wackiest Moment- Winking at my 50 year old English teacher" . Well, you have to risk it, to get the biscuit!
Round 2: Growls & Drools(Group Discussions)
The shortlisted victims made their way through the GDs in typical Roa7ies fashion- lots of noise, barks, growls, abuses, stomach cramps and song-dance routines. Some shut the room up, some got shut up, while the others made as much noise as possible to impress the moderators. Less sense, more suffering for the moderators. LOTS of Suffering!
Round 3: Picking Idiots(Personal Interviews)
Nikhil, get back on a time machine to actually bring back some of the lost aggression! The semi-formal house warming party look is a major mismatch in Roa7iess. The same goes for Cyrus Sahukar who needs to stop adding random jokes every 2.345 seconds and actually do some bashing! Raghu and Rajeev's absence ruined the charm of the auditions for me-Sign A Petition: Bring Back The Oldies And Baldies!
P.S. Cyrus Brochea was WASTED! A talented guy like him needs more active part than playing overgrown babies and retarded funnyman. C'mon MTV!
Rakesh: Lots of "desipan"( Kailash Kher would love him) but not enough zing to make the cut! Too much of A-syndrome(Asutosh syndrome for the grinning pervs!) and lack of individuality to stand out among the others. Speedy talker, slow performer. REJECTED!
Sunny/Bunny/Unfunny Ghosh: The resident pooch barked a lot about his abilities( and bit a few poor saps) but did little to do justice to his hideous appearance and hilarious concepts about Roa7ies and life. Was promptly shown the exit doggy style. REJECTED!
Aratrika: Papa ki pari, she did stutter in the beginning but came into her own. Coming from a turbulant emotional background, her take is admirable although her choice of boyfriends remains more than questionable. She was smart, confident and spoke her mind. No one was surprised when she got SELECTED!
PS:Needs to practice mental maths! Took her 5 minutes and 10 fingers to count 6 boyfriends!!
Varun: Average guy with a fear of snakes. Almost had a heart attack as he put his hands into a bowl with a "supposed" water snake. Turned out to be Rasgullas, the size which his eyes had become before opening the bowl. His sweet tooth was satisfied, but the judges were not. REJECTED!
Priyanka: Lots of confidence in GD, a stuttering fumble in front of the cameras. Overcame her shyness and transformed into a Powder-Puff girl to save the world through Mountain Dew! Kyun ki darr ke age jeet hain!
Good confidence and spirit saw her turn the tables. SELECTED!
Judges gave Eric a run down as the poor guy argued his case only to break down infront of Bani. He stayed strong in his opinion, something that did not go unnoticed by the judges. By a surprising positive twist, SELECTED!
Vicky "Turbanator" Singh: The oldest one at the PI certainly had a young heart but his motives turned out to be all too selfish. While his wife and kid won the accolades from the judges, Vicky was left wondering whether he should have prepared for the PI more, or taken the long lost honeymoon instead. REJECTED!
Chitrangada: Nice heart, confused soul. She seemed genuine from a lot of angles, but the entire controversy of the alleged boyfriend/friend/acquaintance/lover/ partner in crime concept threw the judges off guard. The interview spiralled towards another direction altogether, as we learnt more about her wavelengths, but too little of herself. The judges were not impressed as she could not "direct" her visions as well as she would have liked.Shame, she had potential. REJECTED!
One more guy, Anwar made the cut, but his PI was never shown! MTV get your act together.
Aratrika- Confidence and fire to find her way in a crowd. Good survival chances.
Priyanka-Would find it difficult to get into groove. Needs to change.
Eric-Tasks he can master. Can he win friends that easily? Remains to be seen..but with good chances of survival!
Anwar-Needs to get himself shown on TV.A LOT.
Overall, Roa7ies seemed a lot milder and low on energy in comparison to the previous years. The gags replaced the abuses and a childish atmosphere ruined the sense of tension and excitement which was pivotal to the show.
The show seemed polished, but without a heart! This year, it may extend its reach to Grandmas looking for soft content TV.
Here's hoping the next episode would hold some promise as Roa7ies juggernauts through the heart of Chandigarh. As of now, the Kolkata Kinetics was just one BIG miscalculation!
Would not get into the specifics because that would take it away from your review. Let the season unfold. Most of your misgivings would disappear. Promise.
the guy is way much better... and so is Cyrus sahukar..with the ready wit and all... where did it all disappear?! it was surprising to see how different nikhil appeared too...i felt he used to be a lot more aggressive previously..
anyways..even though i was a bit disappointed.. i still believe they are an awesome team... and if anybody can keep up with the high standards of roadies and expectations of the viewers....they are the best people around....the humor idea is really good....it could make the roadies audition a little diff from the other reality show auditions too...
plus .. how can we forget.. its their first time together judging at the roadies auditions too... perhaps we should give them one or two more episodes... and after all its Cyrus S and Cyrus B we are talking bou here!!
besides.. Eric made it..!!!! yayy!!
But once a guy showed me a Roadies audition clip on YouTube and from then on I am a fan of Roadies, I have been seeing Roadies on internet for a long time now because of the magic you(Nikhil) and Raghu created and Raghu and Rajeev created in the show.
Because of Roadies I became a fan of MTV , I followed RBG 2 videos on Youtube , and became a fan of MTV Rock ON and for Roadies craze I became a member of the community.
But I have to say with regret that after the first episode of Roa7ies I have suddenly realized I have no more shows left on TV which I like to see.And sad part is MTV Rock ON is also almost about to end.
Last season was rubbish barring the interviews....
I like gags...But it should'nt get childish.. A mix of Nikhjil Chinapa's hard core abuse and C and C's gags would make it a hit.
Hi friends in this article let us discuss about the good TV serials, that I've watched in English.Practically speaking most of the house wife in India usually watch the TV serials telecasted in their regional language and many use to tease them because all the characters in our TV serials will usually cry and as a matter of fact we couldn't comment on them because we take TV serials in our own traditional way and when we consider countries like USA, they do it in a different way and also with a huge budget, as their TV serial are telecasted all over the world. So in this article let us discuss about some of the good TV serial which I have seen.
i)Lost:
#) So far 5 seasons have been aired in TV and this is a science fiction thriller, which contains a secret that is yet to be revealed
#)Iam eagerly expecting for the sixth season , so that I can find what is the secret that is present in that island
#) Well, the 1st season starts with a plan getting crashed in an unknown island with around 50 survivors and they are hoping that they will be rescued
#)Later when days past and the hope of rescuing being failed, some of the members were kidnapped by the unknown people from the forest called as "THE OTHERS"
#) Soon they also found a hatch and they need to click a button for every 108 minute to save the world.
#)Apart from this a moster, which is a balck smoke, kills the people and the secret will revealed in the 6th season
#)Naveen Andrews, an Indian origin actor played a main character of Sayid Jaraah in this serial.
#)So if you are expecting an adventruous , science fiction, thriller, then this is the show that will guarantee a non stop entertainment package
ii)24
#)So far seven season have been aired and each season contains 24 episodes
#)The events that takes place in this serial occur at real time ,i.e each season takes place in a day, i.e for example the first season contains 24 episodes and it starts from 12 AM in the morning till 11:59 PM, i.e 24 hours and every hour is an episode.
#)This is about a character called 'Jack Bauer" played by Keifer Sutherland and you would have seen in the film called "MIRROR"
#)He works in an fictitious unit set for this serial called as "CTU" Counter Terrorist Unit and this is a full action packed TV serial
#)I am sure each episode will thrill and also make you to sit at the edge of the sea.
#)They usually cover an international problems and how Jack overcomes it and some of the includes like Nuclear weapons, Deadly virus spread in the country etc.
#)In the first season they show how Jack saves the life of the presidential candidate David Palmer
#0Another important thing is that Anil Kapoor plays a leading role in the 8th season which will be aired next year.
iii)Prison Break
#)Well, is the first English TV serial I have seen and this is a great one
#)I guess most of you would have seen the film called "The Shawsank Redemption" and this serial also has the similar concept, i.e. how to break the prison and escape.
#)This serial contains a character called Michael Scofield adn he has a great power to think and implement his plan.
#)This character is done by Wentworth Miller and he is a structural Engineer in this serial and he gets himself into the prison so as to rescue his brother Lincoln Burrows, who was convicted for a murder and was given death sentence.
#)This serial contains 4 season and in the first season shows how he helps his brother to rescue from the prison
#) Then each and every episode is an exciting one and I am sure you can't stop watching any season in the middle and as soon as you watch an episode you will be pushed to watch the next episode and that proves this is an exciting serial.
The emphasis these days is on the consumer. The Consumer is the King. Every possible effort is made to make our lives easier and happier. Shopkeepers give discounts or gifts to make the customer happy so as to ensure repeat business for them. These days even reputed international brands like Nokia and other establishments have a portion of their forms printed in respective regional languages in the interests of their customer. Private banks through ATMs and online banking have given us comforts we cannot even dream of. Yet when it comes to Print and Electronic media in India, they do not care an inch for us.
If you look at most Newsreaders of most Indian Television Channels, many of them use words which are not understandable to most Indians. Many Indians are educated. Many of us are sufficiently educated to read well, to write well and to understand this world or live in this world and deal with people and environment but many of the words used by these newsreaders require a person to be highly educated in a English medium school of the highest standards in a metropolitan city. Anyone of us can well imagine, how many metropolitan cities do we have and how many children in India have the access to best education facilities in remote areas or how parents can afford to get their children educated in the best of schools. The print media are not far behind in emulating these newsreaders of Television channels, as they too use complicated words which is beyond the understanding of a average Indian.
I would not be surprised, if there are people in India who keep a dictionary with them while reading a newspapers. Many great writers who lived centuries ago, were unanimous in their opinion that good writing means usage of simple words which is easily understandable to all. According to them a writer who uses complicated word is one who wants to boost his ego, by showing people that he has plenty of knowledge and therefore he cannot be classified as a good writer. Our Newsreaders and Channels fit into this category, they speak or write merely to show they are more knowledgeable than others.
It is high time print and electronic media put the interests of people above themselves and use a language friendlier and easier to all.
Regards
Satish
