Open Means Open Means

Director: George Roy Hill
Cast: Paul Newman,Robert Redford
Genre: Crime,Comedy

Plot: A young con artist meets a big con man to dupe the criminal banker of the century avenge his friend's murder.

Review: we are not talking about The Godfather. But this movie being an immediate successor of the successful Godfather had surely a touch of it,though unique in its won taste and different in its own plot.
The seventies were indeed an era of great movies, mainly dramas and crime centric ones, and The Sting is definitely one of the best movies up front. Its a movie on wits, the mastery of conning and duping, the art to cheat better. The movie depicted the alleys and poker culture of the seventies too well.
If you have the patience to watch the slow build up of the plots where the plot turns extremely gripping and entertaining in its own classic flavor, watch this movie. Also,he movie was split into chapters much in the way Tarantino movies are seen today.
Paul Newman was his usual magnetic self, but this was a Robert Redford movie. This guy didnt try too much and did his natural best. A SURE WATCH !!

My Rating: 8/10
