Indian Education system is going through progess period and will emerge to be great. Its not easy to spread literacy in a country with population above 100 Crores. I feel that the present education system is a tour of many crucial things but the burden of getting good grades in all subjects dont let us delve in those subjects and hampers real talent of an individual wrt that sub finally leading us to become jack of all which doesnt help.
present education sysytem in india will be doing no good fr da future of this country.India will be facing a major paradox in next few years where 90million people will be entering into workforce in few years.Out of which majority will lack pre-requisite educational qualifications and productive mind set-up needed for da employments. So you still think the amount of workforce generated is worth it?moreover 550million people in This country under the age of 25, are not enrolled in tertiary education that is about 11% compared to world's 23% sad statistics is not it?
It is all because common school system is not properly managed here.Even the grass-roots schooling which is being much hyped in this country is juss good fr nothing. Its implementation and the productive component is in ratio 50:13!.Mecalay, the founder of present education sytstems in India, during british rule, himself told that this eduction system will make them slaves to work as clerks and it will take 200 years for them to have their own.Unfortunately, our rulers are not thinking towards changing and establishing a system syncronised with that of gurukula system with modern eduction.
We are just getting book worm with little pract knowledge .Medical And vetenary students are getting only one carcass /body for the practicals and that too for 3 batches of 20-35 students each! Now you can imagine what kind of doctors we are producing.Same condition is with Engineers , this is all about college. Now what to say about schools they just want to teach students with guide and give headache of attendance. They dont teach them to face competition. No doubt there are very big big deep holes in our education system.
I heard from friends some afghani students and they were very good students in Afghanistan and that's why they get fellowship to study in India. BUT believe me they are very very much behind from us in education. There are a lot of countries from which we are very good in education.
Education system today has become a business industry. pay and study, whether or not, You are capable of having that particular degree. now, instead of bachelor of arts or science, guys n gals go for bachelors of engineering and instead of masters in science or arts, they go for masters of business administration or any other professional degree. The result : engineering and business administration colleges in every second street, which further results in no jobs or lower jobs then the degree demands for. It gives a feeling of inferiority ,which leads to frustration and also misguidance. the unemployed youth may also turn to crime as a result.
The education system only provides degrees not the courtesy in behavior or power to deal with real life situations, which leaves the youth in dark and inability to come out of difficulties in their life. The faulty education system is responsible for the downfall of our country.Today the impact of media is transforming the thinking of the young generation.
Though the school education is comparatively good.but there is no quality in the Higher Education, because as we become Graduate or Post Graduate, we prefer to move in better and higher societies and as we become professional ,We forget the Society.Actually i have also suffered from this education system.
Now, aren't we pretty sure why the education system is suffering? The lectures themselves don't know how to express themselves. Their thoughts are so unstructured that no one can possibly understand them. Let alone the students who have no idea of what is what. Its such a pity. We should find qualified people, who are actually qualified in teaching, who can actually make their students understand and inspire them to learn more.I fail to understand how a person can teach if he/she can't even tell his/her students about anything in an understandable format. but the worst case scenario is that a large portion of that well educated population fly overseas to seek their fortune.so what is the use if they are going to serve an alien country with the education gained from our country?
Education system here is not so great and once a person's education is complete say, bachelor 's degree in hand, the focus shifts to getting a job with hefty pay package.probably that is one of the many reasons for brain drain and also why education hasn't yet reached the masses.
In foreign countries it is always interest based studies. If you have the interest and talent in a particular field then you go for it.But, sadly, in India, certain fields are in and other out like in fashion. You have to understand, being a poor country, India still produces the maximum number of graduates. I accept as of now there is not much scope of creative career in India. Thats why not much emphasis in schools also.
we are taught what not in our schools and colleges. but it is just makes up for the quantity not quality. how much of it is dedicated to make a better human being out of us? i agree home has to be the first school regarding this but our education system should be supportive of this .In Punjab, an amazingly large number of engineering colleges have cropped up over the past few years.
Quality = pathetic
Quantity = 100%
Jobs students get = zero
you surely learn from parents, but then schools should complement what parents teach. The problem with education in India is that there is hardly any encouragement for independent thought process. It is 100% true Our educational system creates merely workers. No creativity is groomed. If you take our ancient time we had lot of Mathematicians like aryabhatta, surgeons like sushruta and many more who were pioneer in their field. This was the output of our Olden educational system. Now you name one scientist or one engineer who is in india and contributing to india and done something great?.
But people who leave India after their education is complete here reach great heights in other countries and students who go abroad for PG also do very well. So isn't it a flaw in the indian society as such rather than the educational system itself. Although it does need a LOT of improvement, especially at the college level, it still manages to get the basics into students' brains.
Firstly , we need to be responsible. There should be equal education standards every where, right from the primary level. If it is done there will be no need for Reservation System, only MERIT SYSTEM prevails.Based on level of schooling - more practical work and assignments on recent developments shud be given, because the stuff in our text book is always history and by the time we are out we need training to learn about the new things.I know it is too much easy to say the problem than to solve the Problem. As this is the Problem of India so it is our duty to find the solution.
And I am sure that Indian can solve any Problem.History is the proper evidence of it.But Friends we have too much little time in our hand.
The education system in india is or atleast used to be till sometime back far too rigid .I think , for full exploitation of a child's potential , the system must be flexible enough to accomodate itself to it ,not make the child adjust to the system because there lies the death of individual strengths of the child. The worst error of this system is the mug-and-vomit attitude it fosters .I believe reforms are being carried out and that the system is becoming more efficient now .Look at the ICSE or CBSE patterns which are increasingly concentrating on the objective rather than the theoretical .
An effective education system should foster understanding not learning by route . This is my sincere belief.
In my Opinion,
* Allow Private University to enter Indian Market with no pre-restriction. Currently, Demand is huge, Supply is Low. 52% of Indian Population is below age 24.
* Syllabi of all education branches needs to be updated. Basic computer education should become universal.
* Autonomus Education institute can provide continuing education, major emphasis should be made on Leadership education, , Motivational education, personnal development, public speaking - all this are need of the hour for shining India.
* Allow Industry Funding to existing University so that they can do research and development which is not even there currently. Also, Give Incentives to rich indians to put money in school and not in building temples. Citizens should be encouraged to save for their children's Higher education from the beginning, if required may be by some Tax incentives.
few days ago i read an article in times of india,it was about a test conducted on students and the results were shocking. It showed that majority of students ,their parents and teachers focus on results and the students blindly mug up the syllabus and have no tendency to apply it in practical.A boy in class 4 or 5 who scored 90% in maths chose the answer of "what is the lenghth of your pencil?" as 2 feet .I think the focus should be shifted from heaping piles of topics on the already heavy syllabus and getting the conceptions rite at the basic level.
The best thing about education system in india is emergency n crisis management,we are doing engineering and the only efficient thing of this sysytem is crisis management.Because it is just mugging up in the last week and then putting it down in the paper. There are flaws beggining from the primary section and hence the system needs to be improvised.Continious assesment and more of practical knowledge is all thts required but to begging it all will be a real challenge. Also according to one of the articles, the students from india fared comparitively lower in creative and logical questions in an international contest as compared to the rest of their counterparts from other nations. The students should be given an oppurtunity to explore their imagination, proceed towards innovation rather then being jus spoonfed.
The students are not taught in a way so that innovation can come in their life. Take a look at this senario...
1. Your parents send you for education. You finish your B.Tech Degree.
2. If you get a Job, you join it. other wise you will go for your MS.
3. Some intelligent students, very curious abt studies go for MS even after they get job, and some people go for M.Tech.
4. Now the people left over, who didn't go to MS or M.Tech join colleges as faculty.
This is where the problem comes. The people who are teaching us are losers. They themselves have got rejected from companies and they have taken teaching career just because they have no other option. If we study under such people, do you think we will become future scientists or innovators ?For that matter lets think abt our mentality,The teachers unfortunately are the problem. But i am not blaming all teacher only some teachers, firstly teachers are recuited as friends, cousins , aunts who need jobs. They dont have any teaching experince. They thing its easy to handle a bunch of kids. They all fall on her like a pile of bricks. They she returns to her basic emotion ANGER. I have been threatened by teachers in my college and i find this very sad. The teacher was not ready to be questioned. But we cant blame them what kind of teachers do you expect when most of the really good teachers QUIT india to go to the rich countries to get paid 5 lacks a month and start bragging about it. Those kind of salaries are something our developing country cannot afford.I have met people who have given us US to come and teach the students of poor india. I will always salute those people for thier sacrifice. I when i get a bit old will mostly join a teachers course and become a teacher my self. INDIA has a shortage of teachers i just want to make sure i do my part to reduce the shortage.
We are more bothered about money than education. Have you ever heard any indian discovering abt dinosaurs?? have you ever seen an indian playing with crocodiles on National Geographic channel ?Ever seen a Indian shown on Animal planet with something credential ??
The thing is we never consider these things as professions. Everybody is running after software companies. Ultimate we all will be going back to the days of salvery. But this time COMMERCIAL SLAVERY.
Today Indians have become COMMERCIAL SLAVES. Recently i attended an International conference on VLSI as fellow, i was interacting with some directors of some VLSI companies. Those people directly told me that "majority of indians do not have substantial talent to take up innovative projects but the good quality among indian students is that they work very well under people"
Now, you can take that thing in two ways one indians students work under someone very well. But let me flip the coin He meant Indian studnets do not have the capability of executing Innovative projects. There should be someoen to guide them how to do it . That's spoonfeeding is required. Indirectly its like SLAVES. You tell a slave to do a thing he will do it but he doesn't use his brain to do it before hand. Always a MASTER is needed.I am sorry if i am wrong. But that's the reality.
Many of you will not like it because,
1. You are one among those people who have can acheive nothing.
2. You just want to be one among those slaves.
3. You do not have enough talent to come up in life.
4. You don't properly understand it.
The objective here is that I want you people to wake up.Also let me add one thing here. There are many people who have realised it ,but they won't tell it openly. Instead they leave india and settle down in US. Because they see no hope in telling you people. The majority of you people have been moulded to be talent less.
Guys realise this YOU HAVE TALENT... but our education system has spoiled it .Comon wake up tart doing something of your own the NATION NEEDS YOU.
