In the modern era, every parent hunts for the best school for children. The parents desire ibetter education for their children. There are different syllabus prescribed by educational boards, namely State Boards, CBSE, ICSE. We can consider our children's knowledge and IQ level for choosing the boards. Some children may be of better IQ level and some of lower IQ.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
It is abbreviated as CBSE. CBSE and ICSE both have similar yllabus. Different syllabus are prescribed by the State Board and Matriculation School. The syllabus of state boards is designed by the department of education of the concerned state. Matriculation syllabus is designed by the Matriculation board of education of the concerned state. The formation of this board took place on November 3, 1962 (49 years ago). This is the Governmental board of education with Headquarters is in New Delhi.
Tamilnadu Government has introduced, uniform system of school education. It is called Samacheer Kalvi in Tamilnadu. Accordingly tate board and Matriculation board have the same syllabus.
Some CBSE affiliated schools
- Kendriya Vidyalayas approved by the Central government of India
- Navodaya Vidyalayas approved by the Central government of India
Indian certificate of secondary education (ICSE)
It is abbreviated as ICSE. ICSE is examination conducted by the council for the Indian school certificate examinations. It is a private organization. More parents disliked the state board syllabus, because it is content based. They mostly prefer CBSE or ICSE. They are give more preference to extra curricular activities. ICSE syllabus is harder than that of CBSE. Number of papers also high compared to CBSE. In ICSE the syllabus has two papers in history and geography, one is history and civics paper and the other one geography. But CBSE has only one paper History and geography. Both subjects are from the social science department. Science group subjects are physics, chemistry, biology in ICSE syllabus. CBSE syllabus has only one subject in science group one paper itself containing physics, chemistry and biology. CBSE students havr better prospects in IPS and IAS examinations. In SAT and TOEFL exams ICSE students used to perform well. State board examinations are content based. CBSE examinations are application based. ICSE examination is skill based. The ICSE students can easily switch over to CBSE at higher levels. CBSE students find it difficult to switch over to the ICSE board at higher levels. Parents should take proper decision to choose syllabus for their kids. They have to discuss with the children and take the right decision. In my point of view ICSE is the best one for your kids.
