One day, a youngster came to an old man and asked this question, “Why is God creating so many difficulties for me?’’ How do I handle stress? The old man told him this wonderful story:
A young student goes to a shop to pick up cups and says, “My God, these are so beautiful.” Suddenly, one cup replies, saying, “O young man, I am beautiful right now, but you are ignorant of me. What was the state of my being, before the pot maker made me into a beautiful cup? I was sheer mud when I was separated from the lap of mother-earth. He took me and churned me. When I was churned, I felt so painful, under so much stress. I asked the pot maker, “Why are you so cruel?” and the pot maker said, “Just wait” Then, he put me into an oven and heated me up. I was completely burnt. I asked the pot maker again, “Why are you so cruel?” and he simply answered, “Just wait”. Next, he poured hot paint on me and I felt much pain and fumes. He put me back into the oven to make the paint dry and make me stronger. I asked the pot maker, “why are you so cruel?” and he said, “just wait”. In the end, the pot maker took me in front of a mirror and said, “Now look at you!”. I was surprised to see myself. I had been transformed into a beautiful cup that I would have never imagined.
When bad things happen to people, they become better and not bitter.
Hence, all difficulties are a part of game to make us really beautiful. We cannot forget that any type of pain or stress is actually there to make us better than we can conceive. We need patience, understanding, faith and commitment to go through life in a calm and wise way. So look at difficulties not a way that they trouble you but make you humble. Have a positive attitude!
