Every human being in this world wear jeans. Right from a 5 year child to 60 year old person.
Lets study how fast it is made.
Jeans are mainly made from cotton fabric called Denim. In denim manufacturing companies, usually, the size of the
fabric ranges to 1500 feet from which company can produce 350 pairs of jeans. This 1500 feet size of fabric is then
unrolled onto table and workers start cutting down the fabric into pieces, like pockets. The machine workers use to
cut the fabric into pieces can cut about 100 layers of fabric at a time. Suppose a worker started cutting fabric with
the shape of pockets. This means that 100 pockets sized fabric is produced at a time.
To be accurate during cutting down the fabric, workes marks the shape of the pocket or any other part of jeans on
back side of the fabric and then start cutting. Stampers are specially used to stamp a marking on the piece of fabric
at where it can be cut. once several pieces are cut, then workers start sewing the pieces like pockets with main part
of jeans. Sewing is done with 100% cotton thread. Needle with which sewing is done pierces the fabric 400 times a minute
These pocket pieces are then sent for design into designer machine where designs are embroidered onto pockets with
special coloured threads. This designer machine consists of a needle which gives 2500 strokes a minute onto fabric.
Once design is made, then that fabric will be moved into another machine which moulds the fabric and presses at the
same time. Human being can now tell by seeing this process that pocket is now ready on the jeans. This process can
mould 75 pockets on jeans fabric in one hour. After this process, button hole is made by using a special type of machine
This machine consists of a needle and a very sharp cutting blade. First, needle pierces into a fabric and gives the
outline of the button hole. Then blade is applied exactly between the button hole outline and it cuts the opening.
Now, buttons are then positioned into the machine which attaches the button to the other side of the fabric which
can then give provision for its user to insert the button inside the button hole and tighten up. After this process, fabric
is then passed onto loop making machine. Loops are necessary to hold belt. Cotton thread is used to prepare the loops.
After this process, workers start assembling different parts of the jeans. Then the exterior of legs are sewed. All this
stitching is done on inside part of the jeans. Now, after this step, the only part remained is zipper. Zipper is now
prepared with the machine which automatically fits zipper and the slider on the zipper. Then zipper is sewn at the
appropriate position on jeans from inside.
Once all stitching parts are done, the jeans are then placed inside out in the machine which has suction power of
100 pounds. This machine then turns the jeans on the other side so that it is ready to be worn.
Before dispatching, last step steam press is very much necessary. Jeans is then steam pressed for about 20 seconds
and then released for packaging and dispatching process.
