Our Education system in India is not considering the need of the children, their parents and their difficulties. There are the A grade schools which cater to the needs of children from high society families. They are unaided, charge exorbitant fees and afford better facilities. Side by side there are the poorest of schools which are housed in residential buildings with no proper facilities for toilet,drinking water or space for children to play. Some of them do not have a blackboard in each classroom. What could be the standard of education in such schoold? Our Education Minister should make use of his position and authority to reduce the gap between the two extremes.
Syllabus is so heavy, and is not so useful in practical life. Number of schools are less and the number of children in each class are more. The fees charged are not as per the location of the school, the facilities available and income of the parents of the children attending the school.
The poor schools should be helped with not only free education, but also free text-books. All vernacular medium schools are working for six days in the week and this school should worked for just five days in the week. Ther should be one period of games or P.T. compulsory everyday in each and every school. The competition is so heavy that students have to take extra tuitions. Quality of education provided in schools is not useful in practical life.
All students have to study all subjects say arts, science, commerce and technical even if they are not useful for children who cannot go for higher studies since their help is needed to support the family. Actually it would be ieal to bifurcate the children into three or four stream as per their choice and interest.
