Overview :
10 Variety of Flowers created using basic shapes in Illustrator :
Open a new document of any size in Illustrator and continue the following. If you are going to try all the flowers in the same document, see that you use one seperate layer for each flower. Also open Photoshop and open a new document and keep it for using when ever necessary arises.
1._) Flower ONE created using Ellipse shape tool :
STEP 1 : Create a new layer and name it > Flower 1. Use the Ellipse shape tool and draw a very thin oval shape. Copy the shape and make 7 copies. You will have total of 8 oval shapes. Use the transform tool to rotate them and position them in such a way that you have 8 oval shapes representing 8 petals. Fill the 8 petals with color # F7931D (Orange shade). The stroke color is Black and stroke size is 1 px.
STEP 2 : Now select all the 8 petals ( SHIFT + select petals to select multiple petals at a time) and go to Object menu > Group to group them as one entity. Select the group of 8 petals and copy them using CTRL + C and paste them behind the original 8 petals using the option Edit manu > Paste in Back (that is CTRL + B).Once pasted the copied petals are automatically selected. Keeping it selected, change the color to # ED1C24 (Red shade). The stroke color is Black and stroke size is 1 px. You will not see the difference as they are placed behind. Keeping them selected, use the transform tool and rotate them. You will see them once rotated. Allign them properly. Hence totally you will have 16 petals with bi-colors.
STEP 3 : Now, for the middle part, simply draw a circle (SHIFT + draw using ellipse tool to get a circle). Use the Crystal tool (available along with warp tool in tools box) and click in the middle of the circle. The color of the circle is Yellow. The stroke color is Black and stroke size is 1 px.
STEP 4 : Now select using the selection tool the entire flower consisting of 16 petals and the middle part and drag them into the Photoshop document. In Photoshop document, the entire flower image will be pasted as a smart object. Now right click the smart object layer and select Blending options and set the following :
Gradient Overlay settings > Set the Blend mode to = ' PIN LIGHT ' with opacity as 100% and style used as = Radial with angle-90% and scaled to 64 %.The Gradient style used is a newly created Bi-color gradient of Purple shade that is # d01093 and Yellow shade that is # ffff00, equally distributed. Select the Reverse option. Leave the Blend mode of this layer in the layer box as Normal.
