Final Image :
The purpose of this is to see the effect of the Blending modes of images to get a colorful result.
STEP 1 : Open a new document of width = 500 px and height also = 500 px. Create a new layer and name it > Background and fill it with yellow color, that is # eaf204 using shortcut as ALT + Backspace. Set the color in the color box, before filling the empty layer with color. Select the Background layer and go to Filter menu > Filter Gallery > Artistic > Sponge and set the Brush size to 2, Definition to 12, and Smoothness to 5.
STEP 2 : Now open an image containing the Ashoka Chakra and drag it into the current document we are working in. Use the MAGIC WAND tool and select the white space around the Chakra and click the DELETE button on the Keyboard. Now we will have only the Chakra. Paste this in the middle of the screen. Leave the Blend mode of this Chakra as = Normal but reduce the opacity in the layer box to 80 %.
STEP 3 : Make TWO duplicate copies of the Chakra image using CTRL + J by first selecting the Chakra layer. Reduce the sizes of both the copies using the Free transform tool (Shortcut = CTRLm + T) and place one copy in th right hand corner and the other copy in the left hand corner. Use the Magic wand tool and select the white area of the copy of Chakra image placed at the left hand corner and right click and select the option > Similar or go to Select menu and select the option = Similar there. Doing this, all the related white spaces in that particular Chakra image is selected and now press Delete. This step is to delete the insides of an image. Now you will have only plain strokes without any fill color. Also set the Blend mode of the Chakra in the left hand corner to = DARKEN. Leave the blend mode of the Chakra in the right hand corner to = Normal.
STEP 4 : Now open another image file, this time an image of Indian flag, and drag it into this document. Dragging is possible only if the Move tool is selected. Once the flag is placed, place it on the top left side. Make TWO copies of the flag and place one copy over one chakra placed at the left and the other copy over the other chakra placed at the right. Set the Blend mode of both the copies of Flags as = Linear light. BUT, the mode of the Main Flag placed individually and not over the Chakra images is set to = HARD LIGHT.
STEP 5 : Now open an image of Indian Emblem, and drag it into this document. Place at the bottom of the right side. Reduce the size of the Emblem image if necessary using the Transform tool and set the Blend mode of this image in the layers box as = DARKEN.
STEP 6 : Now let us bring few images of Freedom fighters as per the size of the document. I used the images of Five people namely > Gandhiji, Bose, Nehru, Bharathiyar and Jhansi Rani. Now the placement and the Blend modes of these images are very important. Place the individual images in the position seen in the Final image. The Blending mode for Gandhi image is = HARD LIGHT. The Blending mode for Nehru image is = LINEAR LIGHT. The Blending mode for Jhansi Rani image is = PIN LIGHT. The Blending mode for Bharathiyar is = SCREEN. The Blending mode for Bosei image is = HARD LIGHT.
STEP 7 : If you notice the corners, there are simple brush strokes using the Indian Flag colors without white. Use the Brush tool and select the Brush called = Spatter 39 Pixels. After selcting the Brush style go to Brush Presets box and select the option > Shape Dynamics and under the Control option, choose the option = FADE. Set the fade amount to = 200. This is very important or else you will not get the brush flow. Now use the brush color green and orange to draw as seen in the image. Use the standard brush to place the Blue colored dot. Use the [ and ] buttons in the keyboard to increase or decrease the size of the Brush. One set of the drawing is enough. Make three more copies and place them in all the corners. Use the Transform tool to rotate and also use the FLIP HORIZONTAL and FLIP VERTICAL options under the transform tool (CTRL + T and then right click to view sub options).
The following are the original images used to create the above logo. You can see the effective change in the color and style by comparison.
