Joints
When two bones come together they unite with one another and form a joint.
These joints help us in our body movements.
Some joints do not allow the motion such as joints of skull.
Now we will see various kinds of joints.
Immovable joint
It is in between the bones of the skull.
Another immovable joint present in mouth which helps in the articulation of teeth with mandible and maxillae.
Last immovable joint present in the first pair of ribs and chest bone.
Slightly movable joint
It is present in hand which helps in movement of radius and ulna.
Another slightly movable joint present in vertebrae helps in articulation between the two adjacent vertebrae.
Ellipsoidal joint
It is present between radius and carpals of palm.
Also present between skull and first vertebra.
They restrict in rotation.
Saddle joint
It helps in the movement of thumbs in right angles.
Plane or gliding joint.
Present between vertebrae which helps in sliding in many different direction
.
Hinge joint
Present in elbow and knee.
Ball and socket joint
Present in shoulder and hip.
Helps almost in any direction.
Pivot joint.
Present between first two vertebrae.
Helps in side to side movement.
