Physical changes in adolescents
The vital signs of adolescents [ages 12 to 18 years] begin to level off within the adult ranges, with a systolic blood pressure generally between 90 and 110 mm Hg.
A pulse rate between 60 and 100 beats/minute.
It is the time where when humans experience a growth in bone and also increase in the muscle.
We can also see the changes in blood.
Boys experience this stage latter to girls.
But when boys come to this age they are generally much stronger and taller then girls.
When this stage is more developed there is also the maturation of the secondary sexual characters with the enlargement of the reproductive organs.
Pubic hair and axillary hair begin to grow.
Voice starts changing in male teenagers.
Menstruation begins during this time.
Another key development in female teenagers is the release of follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone.
Both of them which increase estrogen and progesterone production.
In male teenagers the hormone gonadotropin is secreted in males and results in the production of testosterone.
Acne can occur due to hormonal changes.
During this stage of life almost all the teenagers go thru a little embarrassment because of the changes that occur physically and that are visible to others.
So it is must for parents to give proper counseling and make them understand that it is common for everyone.
Especially in male teenagers when there voice suddenly changes they sound little funny and so many teenagers at this particular time keep isolated from others.
They should understand that is is the part of the life process, giving related magazines by the parents will definitely help the teenagers to come out from this.
