Different types of IC logic families are :
(i)resistance-transistor logic(RTL) : This is the first family group of logic circuits. It is a saturated logic. It uses only transistors and resistors of circuit elements. This family is based on NOR circuits. All other members of the family are made up of NOR cells or variations on them.
(ii)diode-transistor logic(DTL) : This is saturated logic because transistors between cut-off and saturation. The basic gate of this family performs NAND functuion.
(iii)transistor-transistor logic(TTL) : It is a saturated logic. Unique feature of the circuit is that it used multiple emitter transistor which replaces the input diodes of the DTL.
(iv)emitter coupled logic(ECL) : ECL current mode logic has the highest speed of any of the currently available logic circuits. ECL is known as non-saturated logic.
(v)integrated injection logic(I^2L) : I^2L is the latest entry into the bipolar saturated logic field. It uses no biasing and loading resistors at all.
(vi)complementry metaloxide semiconductor logic(CMOS) : CMOS logic circuits use both PMOS and NMOS device in the same circuit. It has the lowest power dissipitataion amongst different logic families.
