Chidambaram has asked everyone to maintain calm. He also urged the media to play a positive role after the report is made public.
Andhra Pradesh has been put on high alert in the wake of Srikrishna Committee report. The paramilitary forces will stay on as reserve to step in during exigency.
The Congress Party has a major stake, as 12 of its 21 MPs in Andhra Pradesh are from the Telangana region. They have already threatened to resign if their demands are not met. They are demanding a separate Telangana state.
In view of such alerts and delay in disclosing the report, there appears likelihood of tension.

TRS has stated that nothing short of separate state is acceptable. The situation is indeed tense and solution is not in sight. A meeting of major political parties in the state is contemplated. But it is doubtful whether any solution will emerge.

The states are not according to communities. The division of India in 1947 was in community/ communal basis. In Free India, it was decided to form states on linguistic basis. States have also been formed for better administration so as to divide the large states in viable size. As every area is inhabited by different communities, states are not formed on basis of community.
I agree with you Gulshan, if you look in general, different States have some basic features of their community. Kerala for Malayalis, TN for Tamilians, Kolkata for Bengalis, Bihar for Ranchis.....you know. That's I am telling.
The demand for desperate Telangana state is gaining strength. It is not likely that the issue can be resolved easily.
