BJP has despite bitter relations with ruling alliance demanded the highest civilian award 'Bharata Ratna' for atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The demand is partisan. If he were so deserving, the demand for conferring Bharat Ratna on Vajpayee could also come from Non BJP parties and other independent personalities. There are frequently such partisan demands from time to time for award to Charan Singh, Jag Jeevan Ram.

The demand for Bharat ratna on Sachin Tendulkar appears impartial as not only cricketers but also eminent players in other sports, film stars and others are echoing this demand.
