I think updating oneself with the latest developments always keeps one in demand, though its not always that easy with constraints of the work at hand.

1. Do the essential research.
2. Don't be the first one to set the number.
3. Display your career credits.
4. Don't be scared to negotiate.
5. Negotiate beyond the salary requirements.
This is very valuable post for job seekers. One has to be self confident and insist on right salary. As suggested, one must make a research and find out his true market value that is based on skill and qualification.
