There appear many threads on onion price rise. The Govt. have stopped export for controlling price.
I too wonder why so many threads on onions!! May be reflecting the impact of its abnormal price!!

This is really wonderful. You get five points for writing a post in an existing thread as against two on new one. It appears many members do not trace the existing thread on the same topic and make a new thread.
I think the threads on Onions in going to exceed the price of the onion. :P :P :P
The Union Govt. has reduced the import duty on onions to zero. This will help controlling the onion prices.

Well said Nagalakshmi.. :P The threads are exceeding with increase in prices... :)
The price hadn't come to initial level even after this action.
The rate has come down in nasik and elsewhere since 800 aprox tons of onions are being imported to india yesterday. Also govt has taken all import duty on onion so as to get more onion available in the markets by the month end
Thanks for sharing a good news @shalu..hope the condition will be stable after some time.
New Delhi: Even as citizens are yet to come to terms with skyrocketing prices of onion, tomato prices have shot up across cities by almost Rs 10-15, currently selling at RS 45-55 a kg. :( :(
