A new study on mice has revealed that exposure to chemical bisphenol A (BPA), commonly found in plastic household items like plastic cans and bottles, can cause fertility defects in adults.

I read about this recent studies, therefore a lot of advice is being given now to use glass containers instead of plastic to cook food in microwave ovens and also to use plastic containers sparingly to store food!
