It is good to know that Agra has taken the initiative of avoiding polythene usage.
Well a small city has stated the initiative and hope other cities also learn from this and adopt environment friendly materials.. :)

It is a good initiative taken by the city officials!

But the point is will it be followed through and not given up after some time???

Its really good step taken by the city. Polythene is really harmful and it create pollution. So, by avoiding the use, pollution will be reduced by some extent
Agra is always bustling with outsiders, this is an important and inevitable measure they had to take.Hopefully going forward the nation on whole would follow.
A good move by one of the oldest city in India. But there are so many hardships to implement it due to the tourist attraction of the place. Other wise the authorities have to do something from the railwaystation and busstation itself..
yes its a good initiative taken Agra, hope other cities also implement it..
We are on the work of making Calicut district fully plastic waste free.
First of all people should be made aware of this issue.Special programs must be organised all around India to create awareness.
Why not the govt. impose ban on the companies who manufacturing polythene bags? If there are no production, the demand should decrease.

I agree. Govt. should ban manufacture of all undesirable things: Polythene, tobacco products etc. It is no use banning the use of products whose manufacture is lawful.
