'Let her go' this relates to the woman parting ways. The man allows her to go and not force her to stay with him. He still waits for her to return. As she is deserting him, he cannot accompany her although he still has immense love. He only hopes she will return one day. Let me refer to the song "Jab koi tumhara hridaya tod de tab tum mere pas aana priyae' from the movie Poorab Paschim.

Such things happen very rarely these days as true love is not found nowadays.
