The logjam in Parliament over various incidents of corruption has gone on for 11 days. Parliament has been repeated adjourned and no business has been conducted for the last 11 days resulting in a loss of Rs 25 crore of the taxpayers money. The ruckus continued on Friday too with both houses of Parliament being adjourned till Monday.

The Congress on Friday tried to take a moral high ground slamming the opposition for wasting public money. Congress MPs decided to forgo Rs 2000 they get as daily allowance while attending Parliament for the duration that the House is not able to transact business.

The parliament is for discussion on national issues and enacting law. Stoppage of work for any reason is unacceptable. The congress decision to forgo Rs. 2,000/ Daily allowance is correct. But they should also see why the parliament is being obstructed. JPC demand for probing 2G phone scam if accepted would have solved the present crisis. So, congress is to blame for this state of affairs.
To me the decision of the Congress is a laughable attempt to take a lofty moral position! Why they can't accept a JPC probe to end this logjam!!
well I dont think they work even the whole year....
Really pathetic condition.I had put a blog post n this issue of public money wastage.
It is better that its proceedings face this kind of impasse. All we are tired and sick of their antics!!
Both the ruling and opposing parties are firm in their stands so that a dead lock is formed.
The parliamentary session should go on despite deadlock. Even if the opposition is justified in asking for JPC, they should discuss the issue in parliament or go to courts or enlighten people through mass meetings and other means. They must not obstruct the proceedings of parliament. Obstruction of parliament is worse than Maoist boycott of elections.
We should follow the principle of no work, no pay, Each MP gets Rs 2000 per day when lot of hungry people in india
Both the ruling combine and the opposition owe it to the nation to keep Parliament functional and it looks both of these have made it prestige issue, hence this logjam!
When will it be solved then if both take it as a prestige issue?
Let us hope that the good sense would prevail upon the leaders of bith sides!
The 12th day also passed without any improvement in this deadlock.
Now there is disunity in BJP over the issue of JPC formation and role of PAC. See below the link:
