Hindus celebrate victory of good over evil

Deepawali is celebrated in different ways. As given in the link, this is victory of good over evil. But many also worship Laxmi, the Goddess of wealth. Thus, this is festival of wealth in North India and good over evil in South.

All we want to see victory of good over evil and all religions have different festivals celebrating this but the saddest part is all these are becoming symbolic!

Not only symbolic but some times these lead to bitterness also especially when festivals of different communities are on same date.

mainly these are festivals for rejoicing. Let us enjoy all festivals and maintain harmony and love for all.

This year like the previous ones I have come across mindless revelry on the part of some people who haven't cared for stipulated decibel and burst loud crackers in densely populated areas completely remaining insensitive to the plight of the sick and old!

Despite all advice by government and other well meaning people, To many Deepawali is festival of gamble, noise and pollution. The Asthma patients, newly born children and sickly suffer during the festival.

What's all the more shocking that the offenders belong to relatively affluent sections of society living in high-rises and this is confirmed by the head of the Pollution Control Board of the state of West Bengal!
