We know that Indian people has very less civic sense.For example take the case of waste management.We have seen how people throw away waste things in public places without any hesitation.Why is it so?We are educated people,still we behave like this.
If we take the case of other countries,many of them have strict laws to control this.Some nations like Japan is self disciplined enough that people itself will not do such things.
So in your opinion,what should India do to improve in this case.Is law an option.Or should we educate our children properly in this regard?
Please share your thoughts.

1) Making awareness is the primary thing to be done
2) Model places to view the result should be introduced

what do think about japan?.i once heard a story.A Japanese women took her dog for morning walk.The dog shits in the road.The moment the lady took a tissue paper from her bag and wiped that from the road and put it back in her bag!!.I don't know if its a real story,but i heard this one.
SO what makes them such self disciplined people.Is it their education?.what do you think?

Recently my friend went to Malasia for getting employment.He ringed and told that the roads are so neat that we will think to lay there!!If you put any waste even your saliva from mouth will invite policemen's attention and will be put on jail for a day!!When he reached there he adjusted to it.So keeping law and order is the best way.

I don't know what you told about Japan.But the behaviour comes as a result of their custom practices from early days.So we also should do.

ys, i thk it will be nice to introduce a subject called civic sense right from the school days.. Also, any violation needs to be taken into account without resorting to accepting bribes.

Law alone is no sufficient. we need to educate peopl for cleanliness, civic sense, trafic sense and mny social issues. The awareness campaigns backed by strong legal action can curb the lawlessness and uncleanliness.

1) Penalties should be put for those involved in making the environment unclean
2) A rule can be made like that one person per house should clean the street daily. This will eventually make them disciplined as no one likes to clean the streets
3) Children should be taught in schools on how to keep their home as well as environment clean.

Most importantly, as the lady said, penalties should be put and then only people will understand.
First things first, levy a fine! Only then people will follow the rules and also teach their children to keep their homes as well as the environment clean.

I have seen similar habits of people in US in the rural areas... however in cities where there are strict police control people naturally follow rules.

In India we should implement strict police control and heavy penalties (provided our policemen leave corrupt practices / habits); then only the things will change. In addition we should implement automation in all the fields of public interests.
