Good Morning to all of you! No reply yet! If you take a look at some of the ideas be these political or social-however odd these look, you would always find people blindly accepting and following the person or persons preaching these!
This is indeed a quote that perfectly most of our so-called welfare programmes run by our governments!!

The greatest absurdity in my opinion is that we call our selves a fair democracy and yet we are riddled by ruthless systems such as khaap panchayats !

Another absurdity is that we have thousands of posts in our governments organisations which are vacant and kept away from deserving candidates simply because the deserving candidates do not belong to any scheduled caste or backward class!

I don't agree with this.
Abid, it is a true fact and the statistics are openly published in many newspapers from time to time!! It is sad but true! Few of my own friends have experienced this!
Yes Kalyani. We feel sad as we are facing this in our life.At the same time in past our ancestors were laughing against the ancestors of these reserved categories denying all jobs and employments to them. Why don't you think back?
Abid, I respect your sentiments but that was in the past! Thinking only of the past and then trying to exact revenge by not giving jobs to higher class candidates is only arresting the progress of the country!

Again, it is all of us who suffer because of this attitude, it does not matter that we belong to a particular caste or not. By keeping the necesaary and important posts vacant is only adding to miseries of life for everyone in general.
Absolutely correct. Whatever you say or do will find favor with some one. There are some people who love to support what others oppose and oppose what others support.
Thanks Kalyani and Gulshan for your views! In India how many left parties are there! I lose count! But all they subscribe to leftist ideology and have their own outfits and followers!
Absurdity, good word indeed, had to check dictionary to understand this word.. :P
Thanks Chinmoy and Gulshan! Again, whatever ideology these leftist aprties are always preaching is the same ideology that they ignore and do not follow! This itself is enough to demonstrate the meaning of the word Absurdity!!
The views given by Kalyani and gulshan clearly states the example..No need to elobrate further..Thanks for sharing chinmoy... :)
Very nice views shared by Gulshan and Kalyani. Thanks Chinmoy for sharing the quote. :) :)

Chinmoy- I don not follow the link between this thread and the leftist parties. There are many right wing and middle of the road parties also having same features. Quite often, the tag of left or right is given by media. Also, many parties are there to cater to personal whims and fancies of certain leaders. It is also in vogue to consider the parties allying with CPM as leftist. When the same party joins hands with BJP, this is no more left. For example, George Fernandez, a socialist was considered left. But his status changed when he allied with BJP.

Gulshan, this topic was raised just to give an example fo the absurdities in our governing system!

The views you explained further elaborates the absurd conditions under which our ruling and opposition parties function!
I am not going into the history of how all the progressive and forward-looking ideas can to be associated with tag "Leftism" but the tenor of my argument was to expose the inner contradictions among the lefitist parties under which there many outfits which owed allegiance to parties outside the borders of the country. Our two main Communist parties were divided in their allegiance to former USSR and China. Now they even talk in favor of Swadeshi. That is th absurdity I am talking about!

I agree. The seeming absurdities often result from vote bank politics. All parties, Congress, BJP, Left and regional have certain vote banks- real or imaginary. They take absurd stands even against logic to satisfy their vote bank. I remember one case. Once Mulayam singh, U.P. Chief Minister even supported mass copying and other wrong practices in exam apparently to satisfy the students, whom he considered vote bank.

Thanks Chinmoy for explaining your viewpoint. The main topic is that every absurdity has some champion. This is indeed true. All parties including left indulge in vote bank politics that often compels them to take absurd stand.
Thanks Gulshan for your views and which are patently valid given to the compulsions of vote-bank politics!
hmm, some new thing to learn from Chinmoy's statement... :)
Thanks Rajani! We always learn something new from one another in boddunan!
