Indian Para-Swimmer Prasanta Karmakar on Wednesday, Oct 6 won a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle at the S P Mukherjee Swimming Complex here, becoming the first Indian ever to win a medal in aquatics in Commonwealth Games.

Prasanta is a physically challenged person.Prasanta lost part of his right arm from childhood when a vehicle hit him on a bus window. :(
A very laudable feat on the part of this courageous young man! Hats off to him!
