Hosts India opened their medal account in Commonwealth Games weightlifting competition when Soniya Chanu bagged a silver medal and Sandhya Rani Devi clinched a bronze in the women's 48 kg class at the Jawaharlal Nehru sports complex on Monday.

Hope Australia is far ahead from India... We cannot get the first position... Hope India would try to keep up its second position.. :(

Hmm.... Expected medals were lost!!! :(

Sania was to satisfy with Silver... Mahesh and Peas with Bronze.. :( :dry:
Now we are at 3rd place.. but the medals are number of GOLD medals are equal for India and England..
Hope India will restore its 2nd position.Both England and India have the same gold medal tally count as 24. :)
Let us hope that we can beat England by holding on to your 2nd position!

india rock in all the games so in the same manner it is rocking in common wealth games also.......
Current tally

India is just running behind england. Still about 10 gold medals to be won from boxing alone. And a total of 111 gold medals still alive in the competition. Good news is that swimming competition is over and england's chances of staying second are slim, if India can grab some medals in boxing,wrestling and the remaining shooting categories.

It's a pretty encouraging performance from India.We have a medal from athletic section for the first time!
