Good news that a celebrity like him is taking interest in saving one of the most beautiful creatures! Now it is not just mere awareness we need concrete action.
This is good news that a celebrity like Leonardo Decaprio is now going to save the tigers!!

Although I cannot resist making thsi observation, why again do we need a foreginer to save our tigers for us? Why could it not be a Shahrukh or Amir or Amitabh etc?   :S

Seems like we have still not freed ourselves from the shackles of slavery and hence we need people from outside to do things for us!
That's a very good point,Kalyani! Our actors and actresses do make bland statements in support of some popular causes but I doubt their level of commitment!
This is a very good news... I think more celebrities should take this sort of initiative to save the wild life...

:)

That is great and also slightly shamed, because we need someone else to save our own assets.

well said deepti....i think more and celebrities should be part of it and save our wild life.........
Good point Kalyani.. And it is good that we have Dhoni to support from our side.. :)
This is a very good news.... Its a great initiative taken by him to save our national animal...

More and more celebrity should join this...
I think some celebrities have previously advertised the importance of Wild life...from India but they are not so famous as Shahruk and Big B...However, we need foreigner celebrities to create awarness and our celebrities are more interested in foreign product like Loreal, Garnier etc..
Well said Rajani... I think the celebrities would be more concentrated on business and less on social causes... :(
His involvement will really make plenty to open their eyes wide.. good initiative.
I have a different take on this subject. These high-profile involvements of Hollywood stars may make one happy but the ground reality is that it's hardly going to have any impact on the people who matter most in any conservation efforts. These people are mostly tribal and adivasis who have never heard his name and we need to make them aware and involve them more seriously to make a real change.
That is a good point Chinmoy but someone has to take this initiative for spreading awarness if our country celebrities are busy or not interested...

I think even now there is chance for our top celebrities to join with Leonardo Dicaprio..Nothing is too late. :)

Yes deepti but i think even BIG B took initiative for Pulse polio campaign...Many celebrities joined hands with institution for AIDS awaraness. But i dont understand why no one yet found WildLife awaraness as important aspect...

Lets see that after Hollywood celebrity anyone will be interested.. :)
Very good point chinmoy, rightly said that the people are tribals, but all the efforts possible has to be put in to raise awareness about tigers...

I am not aginst them taking up any such social cause but in conservation of big cats we have to involve these people in a big way!
It is good to hear that somebody has taken some initiative to save Indian tigers.
Let us hope that people cutting across all sections would join this great effort!
