Why does death scare us?

Does it scare us because it is something that we do not know off i.e. we do not know what happens when our bodies die or is it because we want to live forever? :woohoo:

Death is the journey to an unknown territory from where no one has ever returned to tell us stories.primarily, the fear of the unknown makes us fear death.

its normal human nature that we get frightened of things that we dont understand. Death is one which no one knows what it is going to be like. People cant share their experience on how their death was :P thats the biggest reason for it.
