Width of national high ways is in fact a grave problem in view of land crisis. The land owners and others do not agree voluntarily to give up their land/ shops for widening of national high way roads. This problem is being felt at Agra as six lane proposal on national high way is being resented by businessmen and shop owners who will be affected. It will be better to build more over bridges than widen the roads.
Road with two stories and five stories may be the possible solution!
Govt must make sure that good compensation is given to families who lost their homes due to road widening. The most important thing is to communicate with the people in good terms & win their confidence. If is a hard task which need more money & professional approach.

You have suggested a good solution. Today, I read in Agra based Hindi evening paper DLA that in china, buses that will enable motor cars to run under them, are being introduced. The buses will thus as under bridge for cars and other traffic.
Abid, you have suggested a good solution. Building of multi-storied motorways is a practical solution to cope up with the ever-increasing problem of traffic all over India!
Gulashan and Kalyani,
Thanks for your appreciation.Days ago I read it in a Malayalam Daily which I suggested.
I think the width of NH roads should be made having the future in mind, as its all long term investments, its better to have wider roads.
