Actually earth itself is not being endangered,but only the organisms living on it.In the future all life on earth might perish due to global warming but never earth.Some unicellular organism will surely survive and the process of evolution will continue to produce intelligent beings similar to us after many years,though they need not look like. us.so its not a problem for earth.the humans can only destroy life on earth(not entirely),even if a 3rd world war happens and nuclear bombs r used

Thanks for your views Sajeetheran, but I would prefer for the desctruction process to take place naturally and gradually over thousands of years. Definitely not speeded up by global warming or nuke wars!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

It is our collective responsibility to protect our environment from Global warming. It we are able to do it, It will be the greatest service to the all the living creatures. Are we ready for it?

Yes Rajani, We have to control our self. We have to show others by example. We should make others aware about this problem. A lot of people still unaware of this hazardous phenomenon.

I certainly dont believe that stopping global warming at this stage is of any use. What has to be done, have already been done by it.

Good post and i take this opportunity to urge all members to plant atleast one tree per person in your family. This will surely go in reducing global warming.

Very good topic raised by Kalyani and valuable inputs provided by Sajeetharan.But my point is the the entire evolutionary process is not a linear one and at some point it suffered setbacks.We are standing at the crossroads of civilization.Reckless intervention with nature has endangered our very existence.Our oceans,skies,seas,mountains and hills and forests are constantly ringing alarm bells for us.It's time to wake up!!

Yes Chinmoy, the process would have taken at a gradual and slow pace naturally over a million years at least. But our reckless actions and thoughtless intervention has speeded it up greatly!

I do not think that the reasons for Global warming is only a myth. Irrespective of those reasons being a myth or not, it is still an undeniable fact that deforestation, pollution etc. cause more harm to human as well animal lives and are responsible for many dying species of plants and trees. So how could these not cause greater harm on a more wider scale??

I am firmly convinced that the situation is grave enough to demand the attention of all and to call it a myth is to make light of this very serious problem.
